Lies Lies Lies Yeah – Global Warming

23 11 2009

Enjoy this classic and ask

“Who’s in Bed with Whom?”

The Liars have been caught red – or should I say “Warm” handed

The United Nations IPCC global scientific group has been hacked and found to be cooking the books to influence policy makers around the world to buy into the global warming hoax.  The inner circle of conspirators stand to make a great deal of money if Cap and Trade etc. goes through.  This includes Nancy Pelosi’s family, Prince Albert Gore and many other Decepticons.

An article in the New American:

Global warming alarmists are scrambling to save face after hackers stole hundreds of incriminating e-mails from a British university and published them on the Internet.

The messages were pirated from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia (UEA) and reveal correspondence between British and American researchers engaged in fraudulent reporting of data to favor their own climate change agenda. UEA officials confirmed one of their servers was hacked, and several of the scientists involved admitted the authenticity of the messages, according to the New York Times

Climatologist Patrick J. Michaels, “This is not a smoking gun, this is a mushroom cloud.” The e-mails implicate scores of researchers, most of whom are associated with the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an organization many skeptics believe was created exclusively to provide evidence of anthropogenic global warming (AGW).

Scientific liars?  It seems there is a scientific liars club, a Dead Scientist Society if you will.

Scientists are to be trusted as truth seekers.  This is worse than Enron, Worldcom, MCI, Merril Lynch, Fannie & Freddie Mac all put together because the costs would be far greater for far longer if we allow the liars to shove the “Crap and Trade” and other false science based laws down our throats.

Even Science Czar John Holdren involved in “Climategate”.

These researchers are worse than politicians.  Scientists are supposed to be smarter.  We’ve come to expect politicians to lie.  Just watch the Sunday political shows to see a fresh pack.  Of course there are some honorable politicians but they are in the minority.

I would like to see the Nobel Peace Prize Yanked from Prince Albert Gore.  Tell a lie long enough and people will believe it – UNTIL THE TRUTH COMES OUT!

Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma is leading the charge for a full blown investigation of “Climategate”.  Folks, this is huge.

Warming Liars found in New Zealand!

The Great Salmon Deception

14 11 2009

I’m mad!

Did you know that farmed salmon is not pink? When they are fed the unnatural diet on a fish farm, the farmed salmon flesh is gray, not pink.  Normally, wild salmon are eating krill, shrimp and other ocean creatures that contain healthy compounds that naturally make the flesh of salmon pink.

Farmed salmon are fed dye to stain their flesh pink.  Reminds me of the movie Dune. Studies show that farmed salmon is not healthy to eat like wild salmon is.  Farmed salmon is high in Omega-6  fatty acids (the bad kind) and low in the healthy Omega 3’s.  They are loaded with antibiotics, PCB’s and other garbage.  The fish are kept in very unnatural conditions and are fed a cheap unnatural diet for what?  Why?  You’ve got it – dirty, greedy cash.  Gain for a few at the expense of everyone else.

If that weren’t bad enough the farmed salmon are destroying the wild stock with disease, parasites and genetic perversion as the wild accidentally come in contact with the farmed.

The other thing is that farmed salmon aren’t always listed as farmed salmon.  If you go to a nice restaurant, unless they specifically tell you that you are getting wild salmon, you are probably getting farmed.

Grocery stores and restaurants have been guilty of not identifying “Stained Salmon” from a farm.  Law suits have been filed but cash seems to speak louder than what’s right.

The large multinational corporations and others are currently committing genocide against the wild stock.

If you value nature and your health, do not eat farmed salmon.   Do not be deceived!  Ask.  Put the pirates out of business!

It’s Just a Trillion

9 11 2009

What’s the big deal?  It’s just a trillion dollars to do the health care, or stimulus, or bailout, etc. etc.  We’re already in over our heads by 12 trillion right now sow what’s the big deal about another Trillion?

It was a big deal when the Federal Deficit and the Federal Budget cracked a Trillion back in the late 80’s.  It’s emotionally less of a big deal now isn’t it?

As I’ve said in previous posts, spending estimates for a new program are almost always extremely under estimated on purpose so the bills will pass.

Senators will vote soon on whether to raise the debt ceiling.  Is it a foregone conclusion that they will raise the debt limit for ‘We The People’?  Do they automatically have to vote yes?

If they vote no, what would happen?  We would automatically be forced to live within our means as a country.  Drastic cuts would have to happen.  The House of Representatives would be forced to slash and burn vast swatches of the budget.  The other option would be to default on our loans, our treasury bills and tell the holders of the notes to take a flying leap.  Our credit rating as a nation would be in the toilet and no one would loan the US any cash.

Does your Senator have the courage to do the tough job and vote no on the debt ceiling?  Do they have real courage so that our out of control House and Executive branch will do its job and only spend within our means?  The Senate was designed to be a wise protection group.  Do they have the will?

The only thing we little people can do is to call and write our Senators and Representatives and go to their town halls and tell them to say no to the increase of the debt ceiling and start cutting our spending now not down the road!

Put the Congressional Credit card back in the wallet or have it taken away.  Do we want to be the land of the free or the home of the enslaved?

The National Debt as of November 2009 is over $12 Trillion.

The average price of a home in the US is $175,000.  How many homes can you buy with $12 Trillion?

OVER 68 million homes!

Look at this graph and ask yourself, “How Long Can This Continue?”

US Federal Spending out of control

What goes up cannot keep going up

The graph is 4 years out of date because the 2010 US federal budget is over $3.60 trillion.

Call, write and visit your Congressional followers.  Perhaps someday we will have real leaders.

Watch this video and multiply by 12, 13, 14…. or whatever our debt will be.

The Whole World Can Be Healthy

15 10 2009

Imagine a world where there is no illness.  That would remove one reason for the politicians to fight over.  Sometimes I think they are fighting simply to polarize the population for sport and cash.

In my research I am finding that there are real answers, real secrets and real discoveries that are waiting for mass adoption.

I have found that what we eat is the foundation of who we and our grandchildren are.  I can’t cover the whole subject here but it is amazingly simple to accomplish real health.  Our genetics are changed by what we eat, think and do.

Do you realize that if you will have children in the future, what you eat today  affects not only your children’s DNA and epigenetics, but your grandchildren’s as well.

Our food supply is tainted and empty right now.  We need that fixed in very specific ways.  One researcher discovered that growing plants correctly with the full spectrum of minerals allowed cancerous mice and rats to drastically reduce their genetic tendencies.

Even more amazing, the children of those rodents were even healthier than the parents.  The DNA and epigenetics were changed by the food fed to them.

The control group got normal food, traditional agricultural food supply and their cancer rate/death rate was the expected fatal average.

Imagine what would happen to sick care insurance rates (health care is the wrong choice of words) if people didn’t get sick?  What would happen to government arguments if the problems went away?

Nobel Prize?

What did he do to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

It’s the Debt Stupid!

6 10 2009

What gives a bank confidence enough to loan someone a wad of cash?  There are many factors but the three main factors are:

  1. Assets, liquid and hard
  2. Cash flow – ability to make keep obligations.
  3. Debt to income ratio.

The United Nations has now called for a new global reserve currency which has allowed the United States to build a huge trade deficit.  There are many implications for this action.

The old saying, “The Buck Stops Here!” is becoming a reality for the United States.  The US National Debt and Budget deficit, the national trade deficit, personal and business debt all are leading us to a crisis of catastrophic proportion.

The Buck spending must be drastically cut back before the Buck will stop on its own.  It will stop being of value.  It will stop being circulated.  It will stop providing a reason to trust the instrument.  It will stop the United States of America in its tracks.

Now, I wrote my senators Kyle and McCain both Republicans and asked them to vote against raising the debt ceiling later this year.  If we keep raising the ceiling Congress can keep spending and the problem deepens.

I got a response from Kyl’s aid that said he voted against the stimulus package and another big spending items but there was no commitment to stop raising the debt ceiling. So much for checks and balances in government.  It’s more like write the checks without balancing the check book.

If “We The People” in order to keep a union, press our Congressional representative in the House and Senate to NOT raise the ceiling, they will force themselves and the Executive branch to cut by default.  We cannot keep raising the debt ceiling.

As I said in my post Don’t Look At This, do we have the leadership that will do what it takes?  It doesn’t look like it right now.  When will it be too late?

When the US currency falls from grace, you will see a disruption of monumental proportions.  The Chinese, Japanese, Saudies, and other countries of the world will stop buying the Treasury Bonds to fund our ever increasing debt.  Our own people, pension funds, investment funds etc. will lose confidence in the long term stability of the dollar and stop buying the Treasury bills.

We will have increased interest rates and our creditors will come calling.  Our current spend-oholic days will be over and the balance sheets will be very bloody.  We won’t be able to sell our debt.  Nobody will be buying.  We will also have to repay our obligations.

$12 Trillion at least right now is the total debt we owe.  Some items haven’t been posted but the checks have been written.  How much is $12 Trillion?  Let’s say we have 140 million working people in the US right now.  That is about $86,000 per working person.  Interest each month is about $360 at 5%.  Double that if it goes to 10%.  If you want to pay down on the principle of the debt say, $200 per month it would take 35 almost 36 years to pay off.

Oh NO!  I didn’t include the current deficit spending.  We are not even paying our current government bills.  This year we overspent $1.8 Trillion dollars.  That’s another almost $1100 per month per working person.

So, if we add this all up:  $360 interest plus $200 pay down on principle plus $1100 for current deficit spending, that equals $1660 per month every working person must pay to keep up and pay down the debt a little.  That is always a moving target but I hope you get the idea.

Oh No!  There are more people retiring at a greater rate so instead of helping pay current bills and reducing debt they will be pulling money out instead.  What are we going to do?  The crisis is real and the rest of the world sees it even if we refuse to.

We the people must DEMAND accountability from our representatives and ourselves.

All Federal welfare has to stop on every level and provide only the basics of a Federal Government as outlined in the constitution.  We are breaking the rules every day.  We violate and expect no consequence?  Let us wake up as a people and do the right thing, do the hard thing, do the American thing.

So, we can’t afford to borrow any more.  The Buck must Stop Here!  Our people and our land of freedom are our biggest asset, our cash flow represents our ingenuity and business but our debt to income is a serious problem that affects the first two.  Do it now or have it done to you worse later.

The chickens are coming home to roost.  Will they find the roost repossessed?

Diabetes, Metabolism and Chromium

27 09 2009

I have been doing some research about health and biology.  My research indicates that if you eat food that has had an optimal growing environment with full and complete mineral availability, your body DNA, genes and epigenetics will be able to do their jobs and even have the tools to repair themselves.

The human population with the above standard would have little if any need for the standard sick care that is plaguing the world.

The method to do this is actually very easily done.  The obsticals are the attitudes and practices of governing leadership and of major multi-national corporations such as Monsanto and DuPont.

Here is an interesting bit of information.  If you have a low metabolism or diabetes, a supplement that has been advocated is Chromium.  Many people blindly believe that if you swallow a Chromium pill that you’ll get your Chromium. Wrong

The ONLY true and effective way to get your chromium or any other mineral is that which has been absorbed and processed and packaged by a plant.  It has symbiotic balance and is tied to other minerals as well.  No mineral functions alone, they always have at least one companion.

Here are the highest parts per million of plants containing Chromium, the first having the highest content.  If you do further research on each item, you will find that many of these plants have been know to help with diabetes and metabolism in the cultures that they are used.

  • Roselle (hibiscus) flower
  • Dandilion leaf
  • Oats – (the plant not the seed)
  • Stevia leaf – natural sweetener
  • Lemongrass
  • Peach Bark
  • Juniper berries – Western tribes combined the berries of juniperus communis with Berberis root bark in a herbal tea to treat diabetes.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniperus_communis
  • Cowgrass
  • Safflower flower
  • Barley stem

There are many more plants with good amounts of Chromium but those are the plants that pack the most bio-available Chromium.

If you have a low metabolism or diabetes test the above gifts from God and of course eliminate that garbage that is so commonly on our grocers shelves.

Now, if those plants have been grown in that full rich balanced soil mentioned above, they will be even more potent and tasty.

The father of Western Medicine, Hippocrates, is rolling in his grave about the current condition of sick care.  One of his prime directive was to let medicine be your food and your food be your medicine.

With our intelligence and mechanization science, instead of having the richest food in history, many have full bellies but are literally starving.  Many agricultural fields in America have become killing fields.  They can be easily resurrected in a few years and can provide healing food instead of corporate greed.  In the mean time small backyard gardens and greenhouses have to be turned into victory gardens.  There is a growing number of intelligent caring farmers and some states that have outlawed corporate farms.
Basic rule of thumb:  “If you  eat poorly, your body expresses its genetic weaknesses.

If you eat right, it expresses strengths and suppresses its genetic and epigenetic weaknesses.

Poland Doesn’t Like Obama’s Socialism

26 09 2009

Nothing personal  – It’s just business.

I went to a little get together last night at a friends house for dinner.  Another guest at the party went to The Czech Republic for 3 weeks on business and had just returned.  The weather and countryside was beautiful.  He visited Prague and other notable cities as well as Auschwitz.  He commented that he didn’t know how anyone could possibly believe Ahmadinejad’s fairy tails that the Holocaust didn’t happen.

One attorney he was working with was from Poland.  It was an off hand comment the attorney made after discussing Obama pulling out of the missile defense program but it was powerful.

The attorney said, “In Poland, we don’t like Obama’s socialism that leads to Communism.  We’ve already been there and hated it.”

Let’s see.  In one of the Obama sick care bills the penalty for not buying health insurance is $1900.  The criminals that fail to pay penalty is being slapped with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty per Thomas A. Barthold (Chief of Staff of Joint Committee on Taxation).

Let’s see, I would rather buy bread than insurance?  I would rather starve than dis-obey Obama?

Oh, now I’m one of those wild people who distort his truth.  Let me reiterate -

“In Poland, we don’t like Obama’s socialism that leads to Communism.  We’ve already been there and hated it.”

We’re not fully there and I hate it.

A Really Smart Guy Agrees With Me?

25 09 2009

What, did this guy read my blog and rip off my thoughts?

Here is what he said in a nut shell.  By the way, he is one of the Guru’s that THE financial Guru’s worship.  His name is Julian Robertson.

You may not know Julian Robertson. He is a legend in the hedge fund industry. So when Mr. Robertson talks, people definitely listen.
On CNBC, he said “It’s almost Armageddon if the Japanese and Chinese don’t buy our debt… I don’t know where we could get the money. I think we’ve let ourselves get in a terrible situation and I think we ought to try and get out of it.”
“We’re in for some real rough sledding…I really do think the recession is at least temporarily over. But we haven’t addressed so many of our problems and we are borrowing so much money that we can’t possibly pay it back, unless the Chinese and Japanese buy our bonds.”
He was asked if Japan or China would stop buying our bonds.  He suggested that neither country would want to stop buying, but the Japanese in particular might be forced to. Japan has been in a recession for nearly 20 years. Robertson suggests that they might actually need the money at some point down the road.
Imagine that.  Others want to cash in their chips on the US debt someday.  so, not only will we not be able to sell new bonds but we’ll have to pay back the old ones.  Do I hear “There’s a run on the BANK!”  If all the US creditors came a callin at the same time, what would that be like?
Robertson says it is a tragedy that we’ve been put into this positions by our leadership “who seem afraid to tell the public that we have big problems…We need to stop spending, cut back, and increase savings – and until that happens I don’t think we are out of the woods.”
Robertson thinks that inflation may be a real threat in the future. Robertson says, “If the Chinese and Japanese stop buying our bonds, we could easily see [inflation] go to 15 to 20 percent.” He also said, “It’s not a question of the economy. It’s a question of who will lend us the money.  If they don’t… It’s crazy.”

Orphan Israel

18 09 2009

Sticks and Stones may Break my Bones but names will never hurt me?

That’s the biggest crock ever.  That’s a child’s rhythmic defense from somebody’s tongue lashing hurting them.  We all know that words are powerfully damaging.  Just ask President Obama being told in front of the world “You Lie!”

Nancy Pelosi doesn’t like candid words that go against her and moved to sensor them from the Congressional language.

What do President Obama and Comrade Pelosi have to say about Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s continued lethal language against Israel?

As reported in a Reuters story today, his words of threat to annihilate Israel continue uncensored and unchecked.  Who is going to say or do anything about the 900 lb. gorilla in the room?

Will the Obama administration create a resolution condemning the destructive tongue? This is no remote island king with a central nervous system breakdown.  This is Iran with 70 million people, rich oil reserves, and nuclear weapon capability soon.

VIENNA AP – Experts at the world’s top atomic watchdog are in agreement that Tehran has the ability to make a nuclear bomb and is on the way to developing a missile system able to carry an atomic warhead, according to a secret report seen by The Associated Press.

In the article Ahmadinejad repeats his deluded belief that the holocaust didn’t happen.  For those of us who were not there during and immediately after World War II, he in essence is calling our parents, grandparents in the military and intelligence services liars.  He’s calling the elderly woman I met in Phoenix a few years ago, who was on the chopping block when Allied forces saved her from the executioner, a liar.  Steven Spielberg and all the descendants who went through Oscar Schindler’s saving efforts have been duped and deluded and are simply pawns if you believe Ahmadinejad.   Don’t bother asking any of the countless eyewitnesses in the German forces who have apologized for not doing more.

Ahmadinejad is under some powerful hypnotic force to be able to sweep the mountains of evidence that Hitler was who he said he was, and did what he said he was going to do, when he got into power.  Hitler’s plans were written in ‘Mein Kampf’ and formalized in other documents, that his Aryan superiority was being threatened by the lazy Jews.  He made good on his promises when in power.

At the time, warnings were raised and ignored inside and outside of Europe.  Most good people couldn’t believe that leaders and a whole country would participate in something so outrageous.

Fast forward to today.  Is history repeating itself?  Do our leaders believe that Ahmadinejad is posturing or do they take him seriously?  Will he use Iran’s nuclear capabilities for power generation or simply generating power for himself?

Do we roll over and play possum?  It’s not the USA that he’s threatening, or it it?  It isn’t a far stretch from “Death to Israel!” to “Death to America!”  (Wait a second, that sounds familiar.)  Death to Freedom?

What are the activities of the Obama Administration telling us?  Make your own conclusions.

This article from a former top US intelligence official warns that the Obama Admin. is breaking ties of friendship and may push for the dissolution of the Jewish state.

Just dissolve the state of Israel thenAhmadinejad won’t bomb it, right?  That will solve the problem, just take away the State of Israel’s power to govern themselves and the problems go away.

The only problem is that about 80% of the humans are Jewish, that’s if Ahmadinejad will concede that Jews are people.  I’m not joking.  Ahmadinejad may reason, how can you get rid of the problem Jewish people cause, without getting rid of the people.

Don’t make the mistake and believe that if you get rid of the State of Israel organization that you get rid of extremist Arabs hatred of Jews.  Extremists are in power right now.  Imagine if we allowed Hitler to develop and deploy nuclear weapons?  Consider this: What’s in store for those who do nothing?

Let The Trade Wars Begin

13 09 2009

Here it comes.  The trade wars.  This is the first real shot being fired.

In a New York Post article Saturday September 12, 2009, the Obama Administration is firing the first shot that will escalate into what I believe will turn into The Trade Wars of our lifetime. Newtons laws don’t take into account human nature so ‘Every action has an equal and opposite reaction’ only works in physics.  In the world of dynamic world economics it goes something like this ‘Every action has an exaggerated and inequitable over reaction which reverberates until available energy and resources to over react are exhausted.

This is the most extreme of consequences but it is one.  The pressures are continuing to build.

Something was bound to happen.  The Bush Administration failed to act  against the industriously undermining policies and practices of the Chinese government who fixed their currency, suppressed equity inside and outside their borders, while the Bush doctrine was to hope that everyone would just play nice and it would all come out in the wash.

With the imbalanced valuations of commodities and a mans labor and intellect from country to country, with its command economy, China is simply playing for keeps.

The US Government unfortunately is in a very vulnerable position, the most vulnerable in peace time history.

It has a recession on its hands, a trade deficit, a budget deficit and a national debt business and personal debt at record highs, and a congress that spends constantly like drunk in a liquor store with a stolen credit card.  They’re still trying to spend their way into prosperity.  Here’s a reminder video showing the mentality of Congress.  Even though it’s almost a decade old, the interview still rings true.  The emperor has no clothes.

Make no mistake, there is always economic war before the bombs and bullet ones.  Be prepared for what may come.  Be good Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

An Apology for ‘You Lie’

10 09 2009

Who should be apologizing?  The one who lied or the one who called it like it is?

Why isn’t President Obama apologizing for lying?

The other South Carolina Senator confirmed about Joe Wilson, “… he’s right that the bill could allow coverage for illegal immigrants,” Sen. Jim DeMint said. “Democrats twice defeated amendments that would have required citizenship verification of these programs, and the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service has confirmed that illegal immigrants could receive coverage under the bill. As Americans have learned on the bailouts, stimulus, and now health care, the President’s rhetoric does not match his policies.”

Why isn’t anyone busting BO’s chops hard for “Making a mistake” about his bill that he’s trying to shove through the halls.  Isn’t he smarter than making a blaring mistake like that?  What, he’s got a bunch of buffoons on staff that can’t read?  Perhaps they’re not allowed to read bills like Congress hasn’t been allowed to lately.

I’m sorry but if you’re calling groups of people liars and individuals who disagree liars right before making a huge stupid blatant LIE/MISTAKE in front of the Congress and the country, you should be called out immediately.  Three cheers for Joe the Congressman!  He was the voice of truth seekers everywhere.

After President BO lied there was a little grumbling heard from other Congressmen when he said There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants.  This too is false.”  Grumble grumble.  “The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.”  Representative Joe Wilson had perfect audio timing  and said, “You Lie!”  Just like a bolt from the blue or one of Mike Tyson’s uppercuts to his opponents jaw, it was a moment of truth.

We need more Congressmen to speak up like that, raise a stink and make a scene.  To quote Steve Martin.. Excuuuuuuse ME!  Didn’t the Damn-O-Crats rudely boo President Bush many times during his addresses to Congress, call him all sorts of names as well as liar?  What you don’t like it back at you?  It’s undignified?  Your poop don’t stink?

I’m ashamed of Democrats and Republicans decimating the constitution, and fiscal responsibility in the name of political greed.  The Democrats win, the Republicans win and the people lose!

I say time for a little shaking of the liberty tree so that some of the lies will fall out!

How High is Too High?

8 09 2009

Call your Senator!

The dollar is falling again, the UN wants to strip the dollar as the standard currency, gold went above $1000 per ounce and our government wants us to go further into debt?

If the Senate authorizes it, the debt ceiling will be raised above $12 Trillion.  I keep running into people who say “Trillion?’  They can’t comprehend it.

Do the American people have the will and the power to say no to ourselves?   It’s mine!  I deserve it!  I’m entitled.  We’re entitling ourselves to death.  Can we take

The world is starting to say no to us more and more.  The Chinese who hold $2 Trillion of our debt could hurt us tremendously right now.  All they would have to do is refuse to buy any more Treasury bonds.  The implications would be felt worldwide.  All sorts of scenarios are possible then.

Call your Senator and say HELL NO.  We want to pay down the debt not get it bigger and bigger.

I blame both parties but our current leadership is speaking out of both sides of the mouth.  Do we expect anything less?

“Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren,” Guess who said that?  Obama  in 2006 before a Senate vote to extend the debt limit. “America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.”  Oh REEEEEEELY Now.

Who is to blame now?  Who is going to lead?  Who will make the hard decisions that will lose votes?

Lose our country or lose some votes, what’s more important?  Political courage, a famine in the land.

Read more details at The Hill.

If you think everything is OK and we’re going to be able to keep our promises to all the Social Security and Medicaid and Medicare and welfare recipients, look at these graphs:

us age -1950

us age -2010

As you can see here, in the 1950’s the elderly were not a huge segment of the population.  Today, they are far more substantial.  In 2050 we’ll be imbalanced.   The number one item of the US budget is Medicaid/Medicare at over $700 billion.  #2 is Social Security.  #3 is Interest on the debt.  #4 is Defense department.

Pretty soon, the elderly portion will be burying us alive.

I lived in the Boston area many moons ago.  I went on the Freedom Trail, an awesome experience.  It starts in Boston Commons, a little grassy park in the middle of the downtown concrete jungle of Boston.  A little booth at the time led me down a painted red stripe on the sidewalk which turned into red bricks and back and forth all the way through the historic parts of old Boston, Paul Revere’s house, the Old North Church – one if by land, two if by sea (or is it the other way around?), Bunker/Breeds hill and the USS Constitution, Old Ironsides at the end of the trail.

I then went as a squeaky behind the ears young adult lad to the Kennedy Presidential library.  I admired the display of his heroic events on the PT-109 boat and mused a bit over the desk he used as President.  I read the statement of his father Joseph Kennedy that goes something like, “It’s not the money a man’s made but the family he’s raised.”

I left the library feeling good about my experience and chose to share my experience the next morning with a respected older man that I worked with at the time.  I fully expected a statement of congratulations in observing a great statement.  I instead was shocked and surprised at his reaction.  He launched into a bitter attack on Joseph Kennedy’s character as having helped fuel mobsterism and civil discord during the prohibition era.  I had no idea that bootlegging and running illegal operations is how the Kennedy’s came up with their nest egg.  What a surprise.

That was my innocent introduction to a more intimate understanding of the Kennedy family.  President Kennedy was assassinated when I was a baby or toddler.  I really wish that had never happened.

Edward (Ted) Kennedy is to be honored for his good.  The bad will hopefully be forgiven and forgotten.

I do hope that with Ted Kennedy’s passing that his ideals for a full USA Socialistic health care system also passes with him and not in  Congress.

Ted Kennedy took a large roll in pushing Medicaid/Medicare upon the USA like a drug dealer pushes some free cocaine on a new user.  That way the user is hooked and wants more and will do whatever they can to get it.  Forget about consequences, they’ve got to have it now.

The unfunded liability of Medicaid/Medicare is burying the USA and we don’t even realize it.  $700 Billion this year and climbing.  It is the largest item in the budget, more than Social Security, Interest on the debt, or Defense Department.  The baby boomers will become baby beggars soon and the till and well will be dry.  I’m at the end or just out of the Boomer Generation depending on who you talk to.  Forget about it you Gen X’ers there’s none left for you either.

I’m all for true Socialism – people freely giving anything and everything if they so choose to who, what where or how they choose.

No hard feelings Ted.  Rest in Peace.

Is it Racist to call someone a Racist?

26 08 2009

My two cents about Glenn Beck and the attacks on his TV/radio show.

Glenn Beck’s pocketbook is under a boycott attack by a group that doesn’t like that Glenn said President Barak Obama has a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.” then responding to a clarifying question said, “I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people. I’m saying he has a problem.  This guy is, I believe, a racist.”

Personally I don’t believe anyone can eliminate 100% prejudicial bias from their perspective because of their perspective.  If you are a 100% ethnicity or 50-50 or like me a 25-25 10-10-10-5-5-5-3-2 or something like that, you just can’t get away from your rose colored glasses (no pun intended).

My ancestors fought with some of my other ancestors which is probably why I hate myself sometimes.

I’ve empathized with my black friends who tell me of their experiences being pulled over by cops who say and do things that are obviously prejudicially motivated.  I hate that.  I however as a white man in America have been pulled over by white cops who said some rude and demeaning things to me but I wasn’t about to get uppity with them and have them pull a Rodney King on me.

I don’t like to fight because no matter who wins everyone loses at least a little bit.  Sometimes you have to but those instances are extremely rare and most of the time can be avoided.

Was it stupid for Obama to say the Cambridge police acted stupidly?  Yes.  Has he said things that appear to be racist?  Yes.  Has he associated closely with some who appear to be racist?  Yes.  Was Professor Gates reacting as a jaded black man fighting against “The Man?”  Looks like it.  Did Mr. Gates have any alcohol on the plane?  Too many questions.

A talk show host talks for a living.  What was his purpose to call the President a racist?  Ratings or strong belief?

It is not racist to call someone a racist.  Some people just are, no doubt about it.  Perhaps we should let some people just think that they are not racist, even if they are, to have more civility.

Ronald Reagan said it best

14 08 2009

In 1961 a private citizen Ronald Reagan spoke out against socialized medicine.   Who could say it better?

We’ve already set the precident of socialzed medicine with Medicare / Medicaid.  Abolish it.  We’re not a totally stupid nation are we?.  There are solutions to get a free country.  Communism and Socialism are not the answers.

Foul – Out of Bounds!

11 08 2009

This is government:  To govern = To keep under control; restrain = To control the speed or magnitude of; regulate = To control the actions or behavior of.

Would you like the government to run the NBA?  I see the government as a Referee, Not a player, Not a coach, Not an owner or the league itself.  The government’s primary role is to prevent forces outside and inside our borders from destroying our freedom.  The current efforts of our government fly in the face of the model of freedom.

NBA Referee

Imagine this.  The referees take over everything, forcing out the existing owners, changing rules to promote ‘fairness’.  Dummy down, lowest common denominator, one size fits all.

All sorts of ridiculous potentials are possible, all of which do not promote the best players in the world playing the best basketball possible.

We need good referees, not referees taking over all aspects of the game.

I don’t believe the government has any business in any business except that of the courts, national defense, regulating interstate commerce, regulating money and providing the general role of referee.  We as Americans have become lazy and allowed self serving interests to pervert the cause of freedom.

When will we learn that communism, socialism, and fascism etc. stink?  Let Freedom Ring!  Our leaders need to take their rightful place.

Unhealthy Careless

7 08 2009

Health Care?

Ever been to any government run clinics, or facilities?  I haven’t been impressed.  We done have to wait to see what government run healthcare would be like.  States, counties and some Federal programs already exist.  We see evidence of  low quality and a high degree of apathy.  Many veterans struggle to get what they need and the layers of bureaucracy are stifling.  Ever drive by a government run road crew?  9 guys standing on their shovel handles and 1 guy digging.  I worked for a city parks department at one time.  I liked the guys but the motto was = Good enough for Government Work.  The other phrase was = In 100 years who will know the difference.  It simply is the attitude of centralized bureaucratic largess.

I’m not a Veteran but I hear the VA hospitals are usually riddled with problems. Poor quality care, apathy, corruption and no alternatives.

Choice and Accountability:

1.  Choice – Who has addressed the problem of where will the Canadians for their high quality care?  Mexico or Cuba?

2.  Accountability – Imagine trying to sue a doctor for amputating the wrong leg or leaving surgical equipment inside your body.  Ever try to sue the Federal Government?  Wait in line, fill out this form, no there’s no one that can do that, we’re all out of that.  What mechanism would be there to improve things?  A bureaucrat trying to fix another bureaucrat?  Think of all the government departments that you’ve dealt with.  How would you rate their quality.

On July 30, 1965 we let the camel’s nose in the tent – Medicaid and Medicare.  Our step to socialized/communized medicine started then.  Can the people get the government totally out of the business of health care?

Anyone remember Soylent Green?  It is a 1973 movie staged in New York City in the year 2022 staring Charlton Heston.

The Government has total control over every aspect of peoples lives. For example, deadly people mover crowd control tractors and other extreme measures are used  to control riots in the streets.

With food supplies running short a new food source, Soylent Green, has come to the rescue with the new food source.  Real food is outlawed and the black market prices for strawberry jam and other real foods items are astronomical.

Charlton Heston’s character seeks to find the origin of the new food source.  He follows his relative through the government run euthanasia center and discovers that “SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!” Talk about recycling.

What will we do to ourselves next in the name of emergency?  Watch the full movie here and see what an all powerful Federal Government could be like – running our lives from birth to death.  How long will we allow those who govern our laws have us feed on ourselves?

It’s 1 hour and 36 minutes.

TOP TEN REASONS I PROCRASTINATE

14 10 2008

OK, this is my very first blog ever so take it easy on me.  I have stepped out of my discomfort zone and am going to let it all hang out.

I have no idea where this is going but it’s going to be about what I thing is the most amazing stuff in the universe.  Should I talk about this, should I talk about that?  I’m just not sure where this is going but here it goes.

My favorite t-shirt right now is a simple solid bright green tee that says:

TOP TEN REASONS

I PROCRASTINATE

1.

That’s the end of the T-shirt.

It cracked me up when I was at the Goodwill store (don’t tell anyone I go there).  I grabbed it.  At first I thought it meant that I procrastinated.  After wearing it for fun for a month or so, I realized the true meaning …. There are no reasons to procrastinate.  I am living right now, doing exactly what I want to do.  I am free to do or not do anything that I so choose of the available options.  I also realize that my choices are limited to the limitations I have allowed to be placed upon by myself or others.

I’ll be posting items from time to time that I find enriching, amazing, funny or otherwise worthwhile.  I’m not going to broadcast this blog for a while except for the tag.  I want to see if anyone finds me at all.

My last name is McIver.  It was common to shorten the Mac Iver to Mc Iver with the little c raised.  Now McIver is the common spelling.  I often get asked if my name is the name like on the TV show “MacGuyver”.  I reply that I’m the real thing.  The actor, Richard Dean Anderson, who I think is absolutely fantastic, doesn’t know how to really do very many technical, scientific or mechanical things whereas I am very interested and adept at many of these things.

I would love to be much much more proficient as time goes on and perhaps I’ll share some of my findings and doings here.  I really am interested in the cutting edge or stuff on the verge of becoming viable for our species.  I really believe that if more people were of a single minded nature to share and build rather than hoard and destroy our collective intelligence would be raised to unimagined heights.

If you’re reading this then you’ve found my site.  Please feel free to comment on what you would like to have me share or dig up.  My wife tells me that I know more things about more things than anyone she has ever met.  I am easily attracted to other items of interest which causes me to delve in to far too many areas for the normal situation so I am definitely not normal.  I’m just learning how to use this blog.  Be back soon.

THE MARKET

24 10 2008

OK,

It’s the Elephant in the room, or should I say it’s the Elephant and Donkey in the room.  I was shocked to hear Alan Greenspan claim ignorance to the reason things have gone out of control in the credit crisis which has affected the markets.

Listen, I don’t have a PhD but I am a student of business.  Greenspan is under the delusion that he didn’t do anything wrong.  He’s a little like a kid with chocolate frosting all over his face and all over the house whose mother asked, “What happened”.  The kid replies, “I don’t know.”

He of course isn’t the only one with frosting on his face.  I simply recall the shock the first time I saw a car commercial touting ZERO PERCENT INTEREST.  Free money.  What’s better than that?  The problem is multifaceted and lots of hands are still in cookie jar.  The interest dropping overreaction to put off the inevitable recession along with the politicians creating an overextension environment and a removal of safeguards while forcing banks to loan to sub-prime customers and the lending industry going hog wild with the idea. Then when inflation started to raise its ugly head the interest rates were ramped back up.

This had the net effect of artificially driving up and slamming down real estate prices.  Of course the correction is what is still happening today which is affecting the whole mess.  If housing prices were still as high and interest was still as low as it was we would not have this crisis, it would be a different one, the free money crisis of hyper inflation.  Here is a video that shares some great details although it targets mainly Obama.  As I said before there is plenty of blame to go around but if you care about the details, here are some of them.

It’s The Money Stupid!

27 10 2008

“Follow the Money.”  was made famous by the Watergate Scandal.  I was delivering news papers as a boy then (man what has changed).  The investigators repeatedly said that to find the culprits of a crime you must follow the money.  That hasn’t changed.  We Americans need to be as the Cuba Gooding Jr. in the movie “Jerry Mcguire” and scream at the top of our lungs, “Show me the money!”  We The People are being lied to again and again and again and taking it like a dog returning to it’s own vomit.  Let’s wake up and demand the truth and get rid of the liars.  Watch this video for a little taste of the money path.

© 2008 Gregory McIver

This video was removed perhaps because it was too revealing.   It showed the Democrats in bed with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and many of them saying there is no problem with the way things are in 2004 as a regulator was trying to tighten up the loose practices.  It did use C-Span footage and may not have had permission or a powerful congressman or woman on the video had it yanked.

Focus Pocus!

1 11 2008

McIver, the true spelling!

I love the show MacGuyver but I laughed really hard at the last goofy portrayal of MacGuyver on SNL’s MacGruber and his lethal lack of focus.  Watch this video on NBC’s site and laugh your head off then come back.  The first two are the best.

Are you as easily distracted and impulsive as I am?  To tell you the truth I love so many things about so many things that focus is the biggest challenge in life.

For example, I love music and play the cello but love the guitar and drums and pretty much any musical instrument.  Throughout my life I have focused the most time and effort on the cello and I still play pretty well.

Over the next few months I will post some of the things I have been focusing on.  I’ve started a business with a few fantastic guys.  One is a successful computer programmer and businessman, another is a great IT professional and businessman, the other is a Merlin like wizard of a programmer with some tricks up his sleeve that will be ready in a few months to a couple years – really can’t quantify when that delivery will take place.  I am confident that one of the projects will change the way we use computers.

I’ve also been researching alternative energy for years and am doing some experimenting.  Not going to show anything yet until the tests are done.

The other item is having a chlorine free pool or spa.  I have some video of my little fishies in my pool since October 15th.  I haven’t fed them anything except bread which they don’t seem to care for.  They are apparently surviving on bugs and debris that make there way into the pool.  My test of no chlorine started in May and made it through the hot summer OK.  I’ll tell more about that later.  Got to go and do some tech support.

You Win !!!

4 11 2008

Now That You’re The President of the United States of America

What are your priorities?

On The Verge Now

6 11 2008

What A Week!

America has a new President, the Stock Market continues its dive, recession is worldwide and oil prices are hovering around $60 per barrel. Is all this good or bad? The clear answer is yes! If you’re depressed or happy, there is something that you can choose to think or feel that can modify, moderate or totally change your feeling. Our thoughts are our choice. Our emotions are a consequence of our thoughts. Here are some things coming up to think about.

Star Trek 2009 is coming out in may http://www.startrekmovie.com/

Laser TV is coming out in 2009 – will wait 2 or 3 years to let others in and let quality issues settle.

New Electric Vehicles out in 2009 from Zenn Car with batteries from EEStor (no site yet)

There are some even more amazing things coming in 2009. I can wait. Next entry will be funny videos of mine if I can get them uploaded.

Greg

P.S. Do you think that there should be a law that anyone wanting to run for public office should be automatically disqualified? If only there were a way to recruit the most competent and qualified individuals and screen out the megalomaniacs.

The Death Of A Salesman

11 11 2008

Over the weekend Lewis Ranieri’s Bank, Franklin Bank Corp. was taken over by the FDIC. What does this mean?

The Death Of A Salesman!

Mr Ranieri is credited with inventing those famous financial instruments, mortgage-backed securities (AKA Collateralized Mortgage Obligation – CMO). These were seen as a great money maker. I hate to say the phrase but it was a great way to put lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig. The problem is that these CMO’s or mortgages were bundled together and sold on Wall Street as bonds. The buyers couldn’t see what was in the package. Many of these CMO’s didn’t package up the pig, just the crap (Sub-prime mortgages, loans with zero % down etc.) We’re still opening up some of those bundles and boy are they ripe! (See my post “The Market” October 24, 2008)

This year 19 banks have failed which is more than all of the last 5 years combined. We have one and two thirds of a month to go.

General Motors will be bankrupt by the end of the year if there is not a bailout. (“Who killed the electric car” for an eye opening film of why GM is where they are I still have to make my own electric car or motorcycle, doable but a bit of a pain.)

Who is going to bail out the United States Taxpayer? One month before the Big Bailout the national debt that had hit the books was $9.2 Trillion (What’s a Billion or two among congressmen?). My projection for the year end national debt was over $11 Trillion without any bailouts tossed in. We’re on track to beat that because of the declining revenue going to the US Treasury. Last week the unemployment took an unpleasant jump to well over 6%. Instead of kicking cash in, they’ll be sucking cash out. If GM goes belly up the direct employees to loose their jobs will be over 100,000.

That’s the good news. Ready for the bad news? Here goes. Our leaders have promised so much to so many for so long that the UNFUNDED Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare, veterans’ pensions, and similar obligations put us collectively on the hook for $59.1 trillion (aren’t the estimates usually underestimated?), or $516,348 per household. That’s on top of the swelling deficit and debt.

The Baby Boomers are gonna start Booming into retirement in mass very shortly. As a country we’ve been behaving like an messy undisciplined fat man at a smorgasbord. Do we now have indigestion or is it more like diabetes or cancer?

Here is my video pick of the week. The debt at the time was 5 trillion (Warning, stop the video 15 seconds before the end to prevent hearing a distinguished congressman drop the F-Bomb). Laugh or cry, you pick.

This Stark guy is still in office. Here’s his distinguished web site. http://www.house.gov/stark/

We have too many in office with the same mentality. Pass the lipstick!

If the congressman’s logic follows we are about to come into the wealthiest period in US history. Just ask Lewis Ranieri how wealthy his bank feels after this weekend.

P.S. Just in case you think I’m being a little dire, this was posted 11-10-08 on CNBC. USA lose its ‘AAA’ rating?

You Must Watch This Now!

15 11 2008

This video says more than I can say right now.

Watch it and take action. Be Prepared!

Conquer The World

21 11 2008

If you conquer the world – Then What?

To me, it has always been weird that someone would want to conquer the world. Take over this, take over that, for what? “I want to have the most property and toys before I die because ….. ” Forget it! That is so 1900’s. Unfortunately, there are still real and substantial villains that subscribe to that backward syphilitic thinking.

I would love to do as Henry David Thoreau did for two years and abandon modern life and survive off my own efforts and the land (for the most part). He still went into town and socialized a bit, but for the most part he observed and learned from the world around him and was profoundly changed. Of course I would hate not having the internet which brings me to my point today.

I prefer to use small ways to make a big positive impact. The biggest little way to affect people is with education. You know – feed a man a fish versus teaching how to fish.

Now, imagine what life would be like without the internet, a library, school, mentors, teachers, books etc. Pretty dismal. There is a project who’s goal is to provide little kids all around the world an opportunity we take for granted.

I lived in Boston for a while. I enviously walked by MIT a few times and felt the intellectual resonance bursting from the campus. “Let me in there” I yearned. Alas, I was not smart enough to be a student there but the desire never diminished. I now can virtually attend some of MIT’s courses online for free. Awesome!

Here’s the reall point today. You may have heard about this program started by the MIT professor, Nicholas Negroponte. ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD. Their goal is one laptop for every child in the world. “These kids are our mission, not our market.” However, the big boys on the computer block have already started trying to undercut and wipe him out. He’s cutting into their “market” of world domination with low or no cost effectiveness.

Imagine what windows are opened to a child that had nothing before and the gets the whole world presented through the internet. Talk about conquering the world! I’m a weirdo. I would literally get thrilled every time I walked into a library and searched for something new. I still do but not as intensely because of the wonderful invention of Al Gore’s (sorry, I couldn’t resist).

This is my pitch – if you want to get and give an everlasting thrill by doing something very small yet very huge, visit this site.

www.laptop.org

If you choose to participate you will liberate the world, one child at a time. We all can conquer together.

The Russians Aren’t Coming

26 11 2008

Remember the massive hysteria of the Russians taking us over at the height of the cold war? The nuclear threat (If you don’t recall history watch the movie “13 Days” for a great dramatic refresher), the fear of being converted from the USofA to the USSRofA (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of America).

What we feared is literally what we have become, The United Socialist Republics of America. We have been overtaken by our own greed and foolishness. Are there any states prepared for this recession? California – the most socialistic of the states cannot get loans to fund its deficit. Their Legislature can’t come to the two thirds majority required for financial measures.

They had proposed a package that would have tripled car license fees, cut funds for schools, healthcare, welfare and other services and would have increased income taxes on Californians earning more than $40,000. The new reverse governmental catch phrase is “Less is More”. You will get less from all governments and pay more taxes and fees.

If we want our economic system to survive we will have to eliminate the deficit and wipe out the debt. There should be no leader in any governmental position anywhere without that position.

I’ve said it for years. Social Security/Medicaid/Medicare/Welfare on the federal level must die! The federal government has overstepped their constitutional boundaries and the supreme court sanctioned congress to raid the treasury for anything it wanted and disassociate itself from the enumerated powers given to congress in the constitution. In 1983 I wrote a paper entitled “Social Insecurity” and warned of the impending doom to come. It’s almost here. Even though things are bad, they can get much much worse. See the previously posted video on Nov. 15th below to see why it is not a theory but a reality which will hit us harder than foreign enemy can. (If you want to see what one good congressman has tried to get through Enumerated Powers Act, John Shadegg )

Was it Abraham Lincoln or George Washington that said The United States will never be overcome by powers outside the country but could be by forces from within? I believe that economic statistics are simply a collective reflection of the desires, thoughts and actions of the whole population. When you collectively believe that there is no consequence for bad behavior, when politicians believe that debt is a good thing and the constitutional boundaries set up to curtail human nature (which by the way, never changes) are old fashioned an not meant for our sophisticated ways, your society is ripe for the picking.

Yesterday a leading Russian analyst said the economic turmoil in the United States confirmed his belief that the US will collapse and will be divided into separate parts. He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts – the Pacific coast, the South, Texas, the Atlantic coast, central states and the northern states. Drawn and quartered/sexpartited! Is that what we want for the US? Will Abraham Lincoln’s efforts to keep the country united die? If we don’t want this, we must act now. We must force our irresponsible leaders to do the fiscally and politically painful thing, slash sacred cows.

The Senior Citizens must realize that what they’ve been promised will not, cannot happen. Everyone says, “Not In My Backyard!!!” until it’s in everyone’s backyard. The medicare/medicaid and all other forms of welfare must be radically cut or totally wiped out and given back to the individual, community and states where that responsibility lies. We must rely on the wisdom of the constitutional restrictions – those most important federal items of defense, federal courts, financial system and interstate commerce. Our leaders have made the federal system bloated, inefficient and all encompasing – exactly what our founders feared. Will we repeat the history of Rome and Greece? There are a few leaders that see but they are few and far between.

When other nations refuse to buy our bonds and want to cash in the ones they’ve got, what are we going to do?

The Russians Aren’t Coming To Rescue. They’re coming to the Auction. Perhaps they will forgive some of our debt in exchange for Alaska! Perhaps China will do the same for the West Coast. Europe may accept the East coast. Anyone for the central states? What’s my offer for Texas, the man from the Middle East with the highest bid!?

Wake up America! What will happen to the good old USA? It’s up to us.

P.S. A historical reminder :

‘I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.’
Thomas Jefferson 1802

Run Your Very Own Sweatshop!

4 12 2008
Hurry! Today and Today Only!!! You too can have your very own sweatshop! Be your own Boss, your own third world dictator, your own off-plantation plantation owner, your own sweatshop jefe (boss). Why wait until you are the CEO of a large multinational corporation to exploit the masses. Get your own piece of mass right now but hurry, these inequitable exploitative conditions may not last. Why hire illegals in your own country when you can hire legally for less around the world. Oppression knows no boundaries.

But Wait! If you act right now, you get this bonus. You won’t have to pay for holiday pay, workers compensation, or even health insurance. Sound exciting? But wait, there’s more. No pensions, no unions, no disability accommodations, no lawsuits for overtime or harassment. Did I mention brothers and sisters?! You can have the whole family! And as an extra bonus, if you don’t like anything at all you don’t even have to pay them, just cut off the payment and they’re done! Can they sue you with the little pay they get?

Sound ridiculous? It’s true. You literally can outsource your life and do like multinationals do. I got an email the other day from a wonderfully intelligent marketer that was bragging about hiring an articulate, nevermind here’s the quote:

“[During the holidays]…my business was still running smoothly in the background. Why? Because I have a team of folks working behind the scenes for me – basically growing my little empire. What’s even more interesting and surprising about outsourcing is that you can find workers for DIRT CHEAP (I recently hired someone who speaks perfect English for $1/hr).”

I sent her a response: “Hi Betty (name changed), I love your work, the information you provide and think you are brilliant. I have a thought. The articulate competent person you have hired for $1 per hour, wouldn’t it make their day, week, year if you doubled, tripled or even quadrupled their wages? Wouldn’t you still be getting a bargain at below minimum wage? Isn’t your time still worth way more that $4/hour?”

She replied back something like, “Thanks Greg, The $1/hour is just a provisional wage, of course I’ll give them a raise as time goes on.” I didn’t save the response because I didn’t think I would be writing about it. I don’t condemn her. I simply think that it’s time for things to change. Where’s the leadership? I and you are the leadership. Remember the US Army’s slogan for a time, “An Army of One.” The US Army recognizes the power that one person has.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love a bargain and am guilty of negotiating for lower prices. My wife even shops at Wal-Mart. Human nature is to get the best deal possible. The difference comes when the rules are imbalanced causing the costs of labor for one hour of ditch digging or the value of a banana in different countries to be so drastically different. I’m for success in business and capitalism. I’m not for predatory capitalism and I subscribe to the principle that all men are created equal. The pursuit of life, liberty and happiness should be on a level playing field. Watch these clips and you’ll see a little clearer how our personal economic decisions can have drastic unseen affects on others. Yeah, it is my problem.

I’m not promoting or denouncing any particular company or label here. There are solutions if we care to dig in and make changes personally and collectively.

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”
~ Thomas Jefferson

Constitutional Charmin

12 12 2008

The Associated Press reporter riding on Air Force One was advised by the Bush Administration that letting the auto makers fail would be irresponsible in these economic times.  The Republican loser Mitt Romney (One of the best business turn around wizards on the planet) said in a New York Times Op-Ed piece “If GM, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye. It won’t go overnight, but its demise will be virtually guaranteed.”

One Question, “Does the Constitution play any roll in our government besides that of toilet paper?”

The Congress is the only governmental body authorized in the constitution to tax and spend. This is why bills have to be passed to continue funding war efforts, etc. The Executive Branch is not allowed to take money assigned for one thing and use it for another. In the real world it’s called “misappropriation of funds” or others may say “stealing”. I suppose if GM, Ford and Chrysler convert their business operations to strictly that of a bank or financial institution then they can get all the money they want. I suppose we could use automobiles as currency.

The Federal Reserve has loaned $2 Trillion to entities they refuse to identify. No transparency there. With Constitutional safeguards out the window and a financial system run amok, what can one person do?

As I’ve stated in previous posts, we can’t deny the inevitable correction of our bad behavior as a society. If the financial behavior of individuals, businesses and governments are not corrected with sound economic behaviors, no amount of stimulus will fix the problem. It’s like giving caffeine to a crack addict. Let’s put ourselves and our country on a healthy diet instead of pumping up here and pumping up there. If you don’t let things fail, here is a small sample of what you get:

In 2001-2002 when our Congress was dealing with “How to stimulate our economy” High School kids in Kansas learned that there is no consequence for cheating. “It probably sounds twisted, but I would say that in this day and age, cheating is almost not wrong. Because it’s any way that you can get an advantage,” says an anonymous 17-year-old senior who has an almost perfect (Dang it I didn’t cheat enough) grade-point average. He spoke only if his name was not used. He is now at least 23 and cheating his way through life. Wonder if he running for Governor somewhere?

You can’t blame the mentally ill Illinois governor for cheating either. He follows a long line in the snake pit of Illinois politics. When you remove one snake, another slithers right back in. He was just trying to follow the advice of the Kansas high school 17-year-old by “Any way that you can get an advantage!” Steven Covey advises us to have personal and family constitutions. Wise words to live by. If however our constitution is made by or used by unscrupulous person or persons, of what use is it? Please pass the Charmin! (no commercial consideration received for that plug).

P.S. According to a USA Today survey, 67% of potential car buyers would consider buying GM, even if it entered bankruptcy. The newspaper’s poll (in conjunction with Gallup) contradicts the data we hear from congressional Democrats sounding alarm daily that 80% of their respondents (must be union bosses) said they wouldn’t buy from a bankrupt auto company.

Oops I Did It Again

17 12 2008

The Fed has done it again. They’ve dropped the interest rates so low that the law of unintended consequences will kick in again. December 16th the Federal Reserve Board dropped the interest rate to historical lows. The stock market rallied, the dollar fell and Congress is spending as fast as a bat out of hell!

After the 2001 9-11 attacks, the reverberations sent shock waves through the stock market and the economy. The Fed wanted to prevent a spiraling deflation and spur the economy. Of course at the same time, irresponsible lending, 125% loan to value loans, zero down and low or no qualifying loans and highly leveraged deals were fueled by the unrestricted, ungoverned exuberance. I know of a man that bought 17 homes at the peak of the market. He stimulated the market like heroin stimulates the central nervous system.

What are going to be the unintended consequences of this next round of reactionary policy? Instead of letting balance be achieved through typical cycles, the Federal Reserve seems to be over-reacting giving momentum to the pendulum swing, giving the comeback more power in the other direction.

There are two major economic reactions from here – inflation and deflation. Nobody wins with either but inflation is more desirable for governmental powers because bonds would have to be paid back with lower valued dollars. Paul Volker has been chosen by President Elect Obama (I will never call him Mr. Obama as was the favorite term of much of the media for President Bush. I respect our country too much to be so petty). Paul Volker, if you were around then, was the Federal Reserve Chairman under Carter and Regan that reigned in inflation by hiking the interest rate to around 20% at one time.

If we have our interest rate jacked up that high this time our national debt will literally eat us alive. If we don’t raise the interest rate, no one will buy our debt and China and the other owners of the debt may want to cash it in.

If deflation kicks in……well, it’s a mixed bag. The value of the dollar goes up because the prices of goods and services fall. The Fed would basically have to reel in the money supply or institutions become very conservative and don’t use the cash and credit they have. The latter is the case right now. They simply don’t want to be burned again. Like a spurned lover, they want to wait a while. The Fed however doesn’t want a stagnation effect to kick in. They’re trying to create a rebound romance ASAP. If the velocity of the money exchange goes to a standstill, everyone loses. Prices, wages, value could all fall but the debt still owed maintains its size. The deflation example of a homeowner would be a $200,000 home is purchased with a $50,000 per year salary. The value of the home drops to $75,000 and wages then drop to $25,000 per year. The debt stays the same and the payments cannot be made. If this happens to the country overall, our economy would cease like an Chevy’s engine running with no oil.

Here’s the problem as I see it. We are doing so many things in the name of crisis management without allowing the normal consequences to kick in. We’re trying to put out a fire with gasoline.

Al Gore’s A Wh__!

20 12 2008

One of the definitions of a whore is a venal or unscrupulous person. Venal means a person capable of being bought or obtained for money or other valuable consideration, especially open to corrupt influence such as a mercenary or legislator.

How can anyone take a self promoting politician who claimed to have invented the internet seriously:

Gore can’t handle the truth. It doesn’t fit his false model. The internet is not his only “distortion”

Years ago I made the acquaintance of Dr. Sherwood Idso. This man has spent his life getting his PhD. and conducting research for decades on the relationship between Carbon Dioxide and the environment. Dr. Idso was called a liar by the liar Albert Gore when Dr. Idso was called before Congress about global warming. What Dr. Idso had to say didn’t fit into Al Gore’s money making scheme and power grab.

Just listen to Chad Meyers on CNN for a minute.

As I’ve said for years, “It’s the Sun!” The fluctuations of solar radiation is more influential than any amount of fluctuation in Carbon Dioxide. The earth needs a much higher concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere to be optimal for plants. Talk to any horticulturist.

To try and get a picture of how a small fluctuation in the massive sun can affect our environment on earth here’s a rough visualization. Imagine a ball about 1 foot wide. That’s the earth. Imagine a ball 110 feet wide. That’s the Sun. Imagine the 110 foot wide ball is 40 football fields away. That’s the scale of the distance of the earth from the sun. The amount of energy falling on the earth is so huge to us but is so small in comparison to the total amount generated. If the sun’s massive powerhouse fluctuates at all, we feel it drastically. There is so much going on that we have yet to recognize scientifically. Just recently NASA officially recognized the magnetic portal from the sun to the earth.

Call your Congressmen Alert! Watch out for the Cap and Trade bill that will be pushed by Pelosi and the other manipulators. It will be the biggest money grab seen yet. You think the $800 Billion and counting being pushed down our throats is something. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

Call your Congressmen about the Bush Administration’s unconstitutional money grab for the auto industry. Didn’t the Senate just say No?

On The Verge Now

30 12 2008

Pay close attention to this post. This is going to rock your world. Star Trek here we come!

I love science. When I was taking chemistry and physics I was constantly amazed at how many things in the real world didn’t fit into the accepted scientific model. For example, normal carbon has 12 protons and 12 neutrons. Abnormal carbon 13 has an extra neutron. The model says that heat should flow through the material at a certain rate. The real world was 100 times that when cabon 13 was used to make a diamond. Physicists have a nice bald spot because they have not stopped scratching their head on that and thousands of other “ANOMALIES”. There really are no anomalies – we simply don’t understand reality that well much of the time.

Here is a recent developement that will impact our technological lives. A research team led by Princeton University has discovered a new type of double-beam laser that is not explained by existing theories. The findings were most unexpected and have now proven the second laser beam is actually more powerful and more efficient than the primary. Right now these lasers are projected to be used in medical diagnostic, environmental monitoring and homeland security. Normally this is the tip of the iceberg.

Now here’s an elephant coming into the room. If this company goes mainstream will alter the world in so many ways. Electricity available at 1-2 cents per kilowatt? They’ve already got a contract with a New Mexico company. The theory Dr. Randall Mills has refined and put into practical application doesn’t make many physicists and chemists comfortable. He is shunned by many but is highly credentialed. His company is Blacklight Power, Inc. I’ve spoken to a couple people there over the last couple of years. They have been criticized as “magic” and “snake oil” peddlers. I think snake oil has had a bum rap anyway. It has the aroma of chicken. If you study the details in Dr. Mills book (free download) you will see the potential. It is written for a scientist/mathematician so be prepared for 1781 pages. Listen to the audio press releases etc. If you are a material scientist and don’t have the software, you are missing out.

The truth comes only to those who prepare for and seek it.

Don’t Look At This

14 01 2009

Don’t look at this unless you want to be very bothered – 14.5 Trillion possible for the National Debt by 2010.

What The ....... !!!

What The ....... !!!

In 1983 I wrote a paper called “Social Insecurity” for my English 101 class. I saw the problem back then when the national debt was just tipping one trillion dollars. The social security tax was raised in the Regan Administration from 5% or so to over 7%. Since that time the debt has grown consistently. Economists say that it has to be measured in non inflated dollars so the GNP percentage is used. The problem now is that not only is the GNP shrinking but the spending is going up. The Federal Deficit for the US government is projected to be 1.2 Trillion dollars in 2009 alone.

Think about it. The deficit in 2009 will be greater than the whole national debt was in 1982. The debt in 1870 was 2.5 billion. In 1910 it was 2.6 billion. 40 years and virtually no increase. Since the creation of the Federal Reserve the debt has increased by over 4,500 times. Yes, yes inflation, I know, but inflation isn’t a good thing. I feel very strongly that if we don’t get back to a sound monetary and economic policy, Thomas Jefferson’s fears will come true.

The home price acceleration was artificially created by bad government regulation, 911 fallout and corruption in the mortgage industry and Wall Street. The perfect storm of those factors caused the bubble. What our governmental leaders are doing now is trying to prop up the bubble. It’s like trying to catch a falling knife. Our legislators are not trained knife jugglers and we will be cut deeply by these measures.

Our countries economic situation is like a cancer patient being given heroin and cocaine, heroin to make us think everything is wonderful and cocaine to keep us energetic. The cancer doesn’t go away. The government projected deficit in 2008 was that the debt would be 11.5 trillion by 2012. Depending on what set of books you want to look at, we’re there now. When Pelosi and crew get done by the end of 2010 we could be looking at 14.5 Trillion (a billion just ain’t what it used to be).

The Federal Government has become the religion, the god, the almighty that our founders feared. That is why they built in the limiting enumerated powers in the constitution and the three separate branches. We are now worse off than having a despotic king. Taxation Without Representation caused the Revolutionary War. Taxation Without Competent Representation may cause even worse – Every man, woman and child becomes a slave in the land of the free. We have allowed despotic or incompetent congressmen who control the power of the purse (the president simply has to agree) to run us into the ground. There is a tipping point and we are there now. If all the debt we hold were restructured to pay out 5% (high for now but when inflation kicks in that will be a very low figure) we’d be paying $550 billion per year. When the debt is 14.5 Trillion the interest would be $770 billion, the largest portion of any category of the budget. When inflation kicks in the interest payments go through the roof.

In Fiscal Year 2008, the interest paid was $412 billion. Compare that to NASA’s $15 Billion, Education’s $61 billion, and the Department of Transportation’s $56 billion.

Sorry to give the bad news. The only way to get out of it is to reduce or eliminate benefits and programs. We will have to pay down the debt, something we have been willing to do. The people scream for more. “Don’t touch my Social Security, or Prescription Drug Program, or my Bridge to Nowhere. We can’t keep what we don’t pay for. The house of cards will fall if we don’t take it down.

Do we have the leadership that has the courage and stomach to do the right thing, to do the hard thing? We’re in this bus together. I don’t know exactly the implications of “Staying the Course”. Is the bus heading for a wall or a cliff? Do we really want to add speed to the bus? Of course if we slow it down the impact won’t be as great – unless it’s a cliff.

Rumors of Wars

26 01 2009

Before a war breaks out people talk at each other, not with each other. When the talking stops war begins. I’m not talking of guns and bombs. I’m talking about trade wars. The first war of words came from the new Obama Administration Treasury Secretary nominee Timothy Geithner. He said he believes China is manipulating its currency.

According to the Washington Post, Song Hong said, “The currency rate (China’s) has already appreciated in recent years. The recent depreciation is small and temporary.” Song is a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (China’s government think tank.) Song said, “The trade imbalance was caused not by manipulation but because China imports so many semi-manufactured goods from elsewhere in Asia, processes them and then exports them again.” Song added, “It’s possible a trade war will occur between the two countries. Even if the U.S. doesn’t go too far in terms of protectionism, the new government will pressure China, and this can trigger trade conflicts.” The fist shot has been returned.

China does manipulate its currency. That’s no secret. So does the US. The difference is that China’s central government manipulates most aspects of its internal and external economy. The US comptroller of the US currency, The Federal Reserve, manipulates our currency daily with the expansion and contraction of the money supply through various interest rate changes, reserve requirements, purchasing of Treasury bills and so on. Every time the Treasury authorizes a Treasury bond sale, our currency is manipulated. When We The People, through our Congressional representatives raise the debt ceiling, our currency is manipulated. Our manipulation is more complicated and relies on the worldwide open market more partly because of our addiction to debt.

China’s government is the regulator and bank, command and control in one. Since it doesn’t have to beg for countries to buy bonds it’s manipulations can come from a position of strength and are very effective. Yes there are things it could do such as allow monetary flow in and out of the country for a more open market, and thus the criticism.

What are the implications if trade wars begin? Inflation and possible shortages of everything from China. Even if no wars take place and China gradually allows its currency to go with the market, their currency value will rise against the dollar and electronics, shoes, clothing …… virtually everything we buy from them will go through the roof. If strong trade wars take place through protectionism, tariffs and quotas can be placed which will raise prices and infuriate trading partners, businesses and customers. Add to that our fiscal irresponsibility. Because of the emergency measures of spending currently underway we will go into a period of inflation, possibly even hyper inflation. This chart is 1914 to 2008

inflation-1914-2008-pnet

If trade wars break out, interest rates will go through the roof because China will not buy our bonds and will flood the market with the Trillion dollars of our debt it holds. It would also sell our dollars it holds from the trade imbalance instead of buy our bonds and our dollar could plummet again. The last bad inflation period was 1978-1982. Anyone alive then remembers that it was like doing business in financial quicksand. Try to buy or sell a home with interest rates at 19%.

If trade wars break out, the smartest businesses will be prepared by alternate or self sourcing. A massive resurgence of manufacturing in the USA could happen if severe enough. Unfortunately, a real war may be the trigger factor. Will the USA be willing and quick enough?

Now, these problems are gigantic to us, so this little video is to help keep our puny problems in perspective.

Just say Hell No!

7 02 2009

Our leaders passed the stimulus package. You know how I feel from the last few posts. Stimulation from a position of debt is like paying a mortgage payment with a high interest credit card. When the high interest rates come, the devastation will be horrific.

“Kids, Don’t Let Your Congressmen Do Stimulus!”
OR
“Mamma’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Congressmen!”

Our leaders are addicted to stimulus, to debt! If the effects were visible each congressman would have open facial sores, missing teeth – just like most stimulus addicts. Unfortunately the blemishes show later on the whole country.

They used to be limited by the constitution but a supreme court did away with those protections and said “Sky’s the Limit Boys.” Have we reached the sky yet?

The prophets of the economy have issued their warnings long ago. Our leaders are choosing to ignore the warnings.

A little perspective on the $780-$830 Billion.

I was going to list all the countries who’s total annual GDP is less than $830 Billion but I gave up. The list is way too long at over 170.

What’s the only good reason to buy on debt – something that is holding or appreciating in value. So here is my proposal:

With that $800 Billion in debt we could buy many of those 170 smaller countries in preparation for the massive exodus when this country goes to hell. We would then own the countries as a safe haven as the United States would become unstable. So let’s buy something of value with our debt instead of throwing it down a rat hole.

I’m Feeling A Little Hyper

19 03 2009

Hyperactivity relates to an innapropriate amount of unwanted activity. When I growing up, my little across the street neighbor was diagnosed with Hyperactive Disorder. That was long before ADD, ADHD but was the same thing. My sisters and my brother played with him but it was torture sometimes because he was so annoying and non-stop. His young life was met with an accident on the neighborhood street that I’m sure was directly related to his Hyperactivity. It was a great loss and a tremendous shock to all the neighborhood.

I tell you that to tell you this. We are in a pickle. Our leadership – blame whoever you want or all of them – has refused to do the difficult yet necessary budget tightening and benefit denying. The Federal Reserve and Treasury have solidified Hyper inflation.

Yesterday they locked in the devaluation of the dollar across the board. If you follow international currency exchanges at all, every single other currency gained value against the dollar substantially in hours.

Let’s pretend we live on an island. For simplicity there are 100 of us on the island. Our government has issued one dollar for each of us on the island to make it easy for us to exchange goods and services. Our government in one day issues another dollar for everyone. Did that make us more wealthy? Did we have anymore coconuts? Nope just more paper. Now that there is double the cash, what do we do with it? We buy more coconuts with it. Prices go up when the cash hits the general market and population.

People off the island said, “They just made up some more of their money so I’m going to charge more for my stuff for their money”

The amount of money creation is directly related to the devaluation of the currency or the raising of prices using that currency.

Love him or hate him, here’s a little treat from Glenn Beck

Will This Happen To Our President?

25 03 2009

You’re about to see one of the most eloquent orations of the condition and mindset of our modern politicians. This happens to be across the pond in England. Dan Hannan (hannan.co.uk) may have perhaps fired the first revolutionary shot heard around the world. Will it be enough to kill the fiscally irresponsible beasts? Do we have the collective courage to do the hard right thing?

In the following years there will be taxes raised – Guaranteed. Benefits will be cut – Guaranteed. LOUD SCREAMING from people and politicians – Guaranteed.

The big sacred cows of Medicaid/Medicare and Social Security retirement/disability will be gored – Guaranteed. Will there be anyone in power courageous enough to lead the charge?

Is it too radical to call for our Federal Government to have a Zero Deficit Policy along with a Mandatory Debt Reduction plan? We’ve mortgaged our children’s future so we might as well set up an Amortization Schedule.

Remember, Socialism and Communism will never work unless you’re at the top of the organization. Never has, never will. Milton Friedman says it so well.

AARP is Destroying America

27 03 2009

My Grandma was my favorite person in the world when I was growing up. Most of us love our grandparents. Soon our country will have the largest percentage of Grandma’s and Grandpa’s in its history.

The “I Want it All” crowd is pushing into the retirement years. I’m at the tail end of that Baby Booming Generation where we could have it all and do it all.

We’re now pushing into retirement then pushing up daisies. What will be our legacy? What will we leave to the next generations? The way it’s going we will leave a scorched country, a dis-united states of America, bankruptcy for our children and grandchildren. Yes, there are a few that will profit and gain no matter what the landscape but the masses, the poor fun seeking pain and discomfort avoiding masses will be left to wonder, “Why Me?”

I say it’s AARP.

Ask any congressman what the noisiest group of constituents is – Senior citizens. They vote the most, have the most money and are very opinionated. What is the biggest gang leader of the Elderly class? AARP!

AARP is the biggest of big political bullies in the world. They have as their constituency some of the crankiest, greediest individuals on the planet. Do not get me wrong. I love my mother and father who are already in that age bracket and I love my dear departed grandparents, we all do except those who have been or could be on Dr. Phil. Nothing wrong there, just get’er done.

What I’m talking about here is the absolutely individualistic greed of every single person on the planet. Everyone wants something for nothing. If it’s free it’s good is a motto we all live by to some degree. I keep hearing many people say “I worked all my life for Social Security and now I’m entitled to every cent.”

The truth is that most people have paid in very little in comparison to what they will pull out.

Our founding fathers understood that we are greedy by nature and that is why they carved into our operating document, our corporate bylaws, the rules to keep everyone out of everyone else’s pockets.

The founders built in Enumerate Powers to Congress. For a hundred plus years that was the rule. However the Supreme Court supremely screwed up and opened up the till to anything Congress wanted to spend all our money on. As evidenced by most of the ridiculous earmarks and other major legislation.

Under the old rules, congress couldn’t take money out of a citizens pocket and into another citizens pocket unless if fell into one of the enumerated powers in the constitution. There is so much being done that simply doesn’t fit into those guidelines.

Under the old rules some of the programs that would be out of business are: Welfare, Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare and a whole host of departments and programs.

AARP has been the most vocal force to scare Congress from taking necessary action. The powerful marketing they do to their members is awesome. It’s one large greed fest. When Congress looked at changing the cost of living adjustment to more realistic number from an inflated formula, the screams and threats were loud.

We have difficult decisions to make through our representatives and I see at least at this point AARP being obstructionistic instead of helpful. If they follow their past behavior our legislative, executive and judicial system will be weighed down with grumpy old men and women screaming, whining and moaning about their plight.

If we want our country saved from itself, we must change now: cut spending, raise taxes – yes, even Ronald Regan did it, and become a fiscally responsible nation.

We can pass a law that in peace time – ZERO DEFICIT and pay down the debt with a fixed amount each year to get to a zero balance by a certain date and keep it there.

$500 to $600 billion per year in interest alone is what we will be obligating this year (we’re not paying it).

To put that in perspective – What could that buy US? 3 MILLION homes – at a value of $200,000 each. You can get a pretty nice home for that amount now.

So, We The People are obligating to pay out 3 Million homes every year on interest alone.

We’ve got some serious sweat equity coming.

Freedom or Slavery

2 04 2009

Correct use of freedom always generates more prosperity than correct use of collective confiscation.

Irresponsible use of freedom by default is evil.

Gregory McIver

When our country was founded, the colonists were mad about taxation without representation – no voice to persuade the law makers.

Today we have taxation with representation, however, we have 2 house of representatives and are thus rule by the masses which leads to chaos.

When the country was founded, the Senate was appointed by the States to represent the states against all encompassing Federalism.

Today with the all inclusive powers of the Federal Government, the states are becoming more like a skin tag on the body of the Federal instead of a component.

The power to tax and spend at will has been not checked by the Senate for some time. They used to be chosen by the states but now are elected by the people just like the house of representatives. They are a little more objective because they don’t have to hustle for the campaign cash as much because of a 6 year term. Unfortunately though almost whatever the masses want is what the masses get. Human nature is selfish.

The US constitution was designed to protect us from enemies outside our borders but most importantly to protect us from ourselves and each other.

We are wanting ourselves into slavery from our inappropriate use of freedom. You reap what you sow. Are we prepared for the harvest?

Thomas Jefferson said:
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Greg’s Greens

4 04 2009

I am an experimenter. If I had all my days to tinker, test and make things better, exciting or fun that is what I would do.

For example, last year I experimented with wheat grass. I had learned that trace minerals were extremely good for you and found that wheat grass was the best method to get maximum usable minerals in you bloodstream. I used diluted seawater and the best wheat etc.

Healthy Trace Mineral Full Wheatgrass

Healthy Trace Mineral Full Wheatgrass

My buddy Steve was my test guinea pig. He has an immune system disorder. In the first 5 days parasites were trying to squirm out of his skin and left welts. His immune system was waking up.

The only problem is that drinking wheatgrass tastes like …. well, my lawnmower clippings. I couldn’t stomach it from day one and neither could Steve but we force fed ourselves until it was just too much. His health greatly improved but has to find much more palatable ways to get to goods down his throat.

Lesson learned – People will not eat or drink long term anything that doesn’t Taste Great (unless of course it gets you drunk).

Any questions or anything you’d like me to experiment or share past experiments on any subject “Make a Comment”

Garden of Eden

5 04 2009

My hope one day is that the earth will be as lush and productive as the Garden of Eden. I believe it was a real place, not a mythical biblical allegory of our hopes and dreams.

One thing I have found out through my inquiring is that there are things missing in our lands.

I’ve read many books regarding trace minerals, health, gardening, agriculture etc. One book introduced to me by Acres USA, the best sustainable agriculture magazine on the planet, was about Dr. Maynard Murray and his research. His goal was to find the cure for cancer. He found much more.

He found the cure. He noticed that sea creatures for the most part didn’t get cancer. He determined that the cure is in eating food grown or raised on soil that has all the minerals available to them. This soil is not hyped up with ammonium nitrate fertilizers and poisoned by fertilizers either.

He hauled sea water to his property and grew grains, fruits and vegetables with diluted seawater. His neighbors were ready to sue him for property damage but their property benefited as well.

He then took two groups of mice used in cancer research. One group he fed the regular food. The other group he fed his produce grown on his property that had all trace minerals on it from the sea water.

The results floored him. The control group fed regular food developed cancer like normal. The other groups cancer rate dropped significantly – over 90%. He then took the survivors and had them produce baby mice and he fed the the next generation the mineral rich food. No cancer was evident in the next generation. Is genetic damage being repaired? He did other research confirming his initial results.

No other research like that has been done that I have found. Why? I guess there’s no money in it. It doesn’t pay.

My solution? Well, if I were President Obama I would issue executive orders banning pesticides and ammonium nitrate fertilizers and use sea water and other natural healthy methods to increase quality and production. The health care crisis would be virtually eliminated. You would truly be eating your health insurance. Right now we have a sick insurance system – not health.

Another book I read goes over the amazing qualities of good compost and how best to produce it. Another resource discusses charcoal enhancements. There is so much that can be done that is not.

Imagine a United States (world for that matter) that had the best food supply which would produce the healthiest people. When you’ve got your health you’ve got everything.

You can do this yourself. I purchased concentrated sea water and did experiments on my backyard garden and other items. My soil is lacking compost and is quite poor but has produced tomatoes, broccoli, wheat and other items. I neglected the garden severely. I also purchased rock dust that has a great spectrum of minerals in it which has been tested with great results as well.

Unfotunately modern agriculture isn’t designed with Hypocraties motto in mind, “Let your medicine be your food.” The large corporations don’t mean to harm, they simply have a focus on the bottom line above all else.

The world can be better and we can do it one garden at a time.

Feel free to leave me a comment or ask for resources. Happy to help if I can.

It Ain’t Over ‘Til the Fat Lady Sings

7 04 2009

4 Trillion! Almost double. That’s now the new estimate of Bad Debt or “Toxic Assets” generated and held by US financial institutions and distributed worldwide.

The reason for the jump is that normal loans are now being swept into the pile of garbage since the recession has accelerated. The more unemployment, the more bad debt. Which came first, the unemployment or the debt.

When will it end? When the Fat Lady sings (referring to Wagner’s famous 15 hour operas that don’t conclude until the Brünnhilde sings in the final scene – horned helmet and blond braids).

This economic wreck will not end until all the loans are unbundled (no more hiding and shuffling), overextended people fold their cards, all the loans sold off to collectors for pennies on the dollar and letting the institutions with overburdened portfolios allowed to die. In a bankruptcy court CEO’s aren’t usually allowed to have golden parachutes etc. Why reward bad behavior?

Lady Liberty of the United States has grown fat feeding on its own fiscal indulgences.

Repentance is required – 1. Recognizing what wrong has been done, 2. Acknowledging openly wrongdoing, 3. Sorrow motivating a change of attitude 4. Commitment to do right, 5. Seek to redress those you’ve wronged, 6. Abandonment of bad behavior.

Sounds like a lot of work. Can we do it?

When will the Fat Lady Liberty sing? Right now the Fat Lady is just vomiting all over the place and it may be a while until we hear sweet melodies. She may be much thinner by the time this is all over.

Who Not to Trust

16 04 2009
Do you Trust Me?

Do you Trust Me?

Who can you trust? In what areas of our lives is trust not important? Romance, Money, Politics, Friends, Business? It’s easier sometimes to identify who not to trust. Trust is what makes the world of people work. Sometimes the only way to know the truth is to observe over time. That’s where it gets fun. Time really is of the essence. Thousands of years ago wise people found some ways to steer away from some deceivers. I’ve always believed that the smartest people learn from the experience of others and I try to learn from others. How would it be if people had to discover fire each generation?

Being aware of Flattery will steer us away from some bad decisions. Flattery is used by the most powerful influence peddlers on earth to lead you where they want you for good or ill. You must only believe flattery when delivered by those who already have a long trust record or have a real long term interest in your well being. Even then flattery shouldn’t be exclusively believed. For example, recall some parents of the horrible singers on American Idol (always blows my mind).

Aesop said it so well.

A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its
beak and settle on a branch of a tree. “That’s for me, as I am a
Fox,” said the fox, and he walked up to the foot of the
tree. “Good-day, Mistress Crow,” he cried. “How well you are
looking to-day: how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I
feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, just as
your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may
greet you as the Queen of Birds.” The Crow lifted up her head and
began to caw her best, but the moment she opened her mouth the
piece of cheese fell to the ground, only to be snapped up by
Master Fox. “That will do,” said he. “That was all I wanted. In
exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the
future, “Do not trust flatterers.”

We all can think of at least one experience where we have been flattered into giving or doing something that in hindsight we regret. Beware of flattery in Romance, Money, Politics, Friends, Business and any category that someone is trying to get something from you. If you care about someone – flatter them with no return expected. Comment on what happens when you flatter someone that you normally haven’t. Words are powerful and contrary to childrens rhymes they do break bones.

Mitt Romney Told Us So

23 04 2009

If you haven’t read my post December 12, 2008 read at least the first paragraph. Mitt told us so in an Op Ed back in November. Sure would have been nice to have a turn around expert in the White House right now.

Did you read the news today relating to it, Chrysler preparing for bankruptcy? I debated with a friend before the end of 2008 that the unhealthy auto industry members needed to file for chapter 11 pronto. The union contracts, retiree obligations etc. were killing them. He argued that if you do that you will damage working people.

I said if you continue wasting tax dollars before restructuring, you’re putting the roof on before the walls are up and everyone would be hurt. How many billions are the tax payers on the hook for on that bad judgement?

Today the New York Times reported “The Treasury Department is preparing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing for Chrysler that could come as soon as next week, people with direct knowledge of the action said Thursday.”

General Motors is next. The old saying is, “As GM goes, so goes the nation.” It’s not going to be pretty for a while.

Who will give us bad news when it’s daisy pushing time for The New York Times?

I’m Invincible

25 04 2009

100_0020

My son is awesome! He is seven now but was six when this picture was taken. He started putting underwear on his head when he was much younger and called himself “WonderWear Man”

This picture is his version of one of my favorite movies, “Nacho Libre”. I find it interesting that Nacho is a nickname for Francisco which means free man and Libre means freedom or free so Nacho Libre means a free one with freedom – I digress or egress.

He is all into superheros, Indiana Jones and everything seemingly immortal and supercharged. I’m sure he feels the invincibility and mortality of that age.

I remember when I was his age and thought that if I got a real superman cape for Christmas I would in fact be able to defy the laws of physics.

I just wanted to do this quick little post to remind me of one of the reasons I’m doing everything I do. May we all freely excessive our freedom.

Danger Will Robinson

7 05 2009

My financial warning robot has told me that the inflationary pressures have started.

The United States Government is upside down. In housing or auto financing that means that the US Government owes more than it’s worth. The sale of Treasury bonds at auction today was weak. That means the Treasury in concert with the Federal Reserve will coordinate interest rate hikes to finance the bond sales. If no one buys them Congress and the President can’t spend. They of course haven’t been on a pay as you go basis for a long time and show no intention to do so.

Will there be any real leadership to guide through the murky and dangerous upside down waters? Will the populace be courageous enough to make hard choices before the really hard times are on them? History says no. Can history be changed?

Below you will see a historic image of what President Lincoln did that some claim got him killed. He created the Greenback – an independent monetary system that took out the bankers from primary roll of manipulating monetary supply and policy. Is anyone bold enough to do so today? Wicked men have and do kill for money, power and lust. Are there enough righteous left with enough courage to do the right thing?

In The Beginning

15 05 2009

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Is that a statement or a question?

Or do you feel that there is no God.  It just happened.

I’ve been told that there is evidence of God all around us. Evidence is actual, tangible, real. It is not just a feeling. Feelings are real and real important, just ask my wife. Her feelings are real things and so are mine. Thoughts lead to feelings which lead to actions and consequences. There is  evidence.  What is yours?

Isn’t discovering evidence of God’s existence personally and collectively the most important issue of all time?

Since the age of a runt I have reasoned that if there is no God and no continuation of our being then what’s the big deal about anything? What’s the big deal? In future posts I will share with you. Right now I’m asking.

What’s the big deal is to you?

Social Insecurity

16 05 2009

What makes America great?

Handouts!

Looking for a Handout?

Is that the reason we’re united – to get as much from the other guy as possible? Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, TARP, Chrysler & GM, Tax Rebates, and Tax Refunds, Treasury Bonds, overextended credit.

Without the shuffle, the hustle, the shell game, our commerce would have much less Busy Ness.  Why shuffle?

A man was sitting on the toilet.  After he was done a nickle slipped out of his pocket as he was standing up.  He thought for a moment and reached in and threw more coins and some bills in the fouled water.  His wife had just come into the room to see him throwing money into the toilet.  Being shocked she asked, “Honey, why are you throwing good money in the toilet?”  “Well sweetheart, I dropped a nickle in there so I needed to make it worth my while.”

The Social Security Administration is morally bankrupt in its concept. Its execution ensures its own demise and anything attached to it. We need to perform a radical SocialSecurity-ectomy. Get rid of it now. Put the people on welfare who need it but only on a local level. Sorry Mom and Dad. I’ll have to help you here locally. Get rid of Medicaid and Medicare and all other Federal welfare programs. We must get serious.

The Federal Government has no business playing the role of the Church, the Charity, the God of every living and dead citizen. Congress has passed laws establishing a Federal religion.   Faith in the Federal to provide from cradle to grave is the doctrine.  Individual and local responsibility is what makes everyone rise to their potential.

The Federal governments primary role is to provide protection from enemies without and within, and facilitate commerce between the states and other countries. It is not designed to be and do everything. Read the constitution and you will see that we are far from it.

We are Socially Insecure right now. If we do not make serious, substantive action now, we are in for a world of hurt.

The Great American Handouts are coming to an end.  Let’s choose how we end them before we’re forced to in a much more unpleasant way.

Flatulators Against Ridiculous Targeting

19 05 2009

cloud

A new group has been formed,  Flatulators Against Ridiculous Targeting (FART) who’s goal is to raise awareness of the potential persecution of those who flatulate more than average. “It’s like a breath of fresh air” says founder F. Art Egest. “The coming together of concerned individuals may be able to cut off the potential abuse from those who feel that their gas doesn’t stink.”

Global Warming advocates have been going after cattle and have hinted that the next target should be humans.

Handling publicity for the new group, Gaston Rippington says that they joined forces to reduce the increased pressure toward those who produce and release methane (pass gas) naturally. “When you look at it objectively, the earth itself does far more flatulating than  cow or humankind. We just want to cut off any potential for abuse here. Farting is natural, it’s good, it feels good and some methane doesn’t have any odor whatsoever. Who doesn’t want to let her rip sometimes. It’s natural to cut the cheese. People who are trying to blame global warming on us, I say – If you can’t stand the heat get off of the planet.  What are we supposed to do, hold our gas or starve to death? Pulease, come on.  Who are we kidding? What are we going to shove a meeter in everyone’s orifice, establish the departments of Gassius Emissions? Don’t we have enough Gas Bags in charge already?”

One new group to join FART is Mexican Bean Growers Association. They are worried about regulations targeting their customers. Speaking for the Mexican group, Julio Egasious says, “People just got to do what they got to do. People should be eating more beans, not less.  You got to feel good.  This whole thing’s just a bunch of hot air.” Commenting on the economic impact, “If legitimate bean producers are forced to cut back, illegal growers will fill the crack and make a lot of noise. You don’t want a black market, you just don’t.  Promise.”

Obese people, vegetarians and those who eat beans are increasingly under pressure to scale back their intake of gassious emitting food.

A major spokesman for planet earth, Albert Gore commented from an undisclosed resteraunt about the new group formation, “Listen, we all know that passing gas can be a pleasurable experience.  You know the more you toot the better you feel. But at some point we’ve got to put a cork in it. When I was a legislator I worked on legislation addressing excess methane in America.  Unfortunately, the Republicans stopped gas bills passing.  Had they passed I believe we would be in less of a stink.  Anything that can be done to reduce people from eating and farting is just a win win for the planet.

“I have also formed a coalition to address the human methane impact as well, Federalists Against The Protection of Intestinal Gasification (FATPIG). We have been in contact with FART and hope they will work with FATPIG to release some of the undue pressure.  Now, I would really love to finish my dinner?”

$63.8 Trillion?

29 05 2009

How many times has a government estimate ever been accurate?  Say our representatives and bureaucrats in the government estimate the cost of a bridge for $200 million.  What are the odds that the bridge will cost $200 million.  What are the odds the project will be under budget?  What are the odds the bridge will modestly exceed or drastically exceed $200 million.

USA Today reported today that federal government liabilities, from Treasury bonds, Medicaid, Medicare, military pensions,  etc., the total owed is a record $63.8 trillion.  This is all money that we’ve promised to pay.  It doesn’t have to be paid right now but it does have to be paid under current law.  At any time we could change the law and cut off the cash outflow.  No one receive in money is for that.  The treasury bonds are alredy spent and must be paid back unless we want to stiff ourselves and the world – not a healthy option.

The numbers are mind boggling.  I had to whip out my BIG calculator for that many zeros.  To break it down 63.8 trillion is approximately $216,000 for every man, woman and child in the country (aprox 300 million).

If every household has 4 people in it the total for each household owed is $864,000.   In my family of five, 2 parents and three kids, we owe a whopping $1,080,000.  I’m the only one working right now.  Right now my US dollar net worth is way less than zero.  What’s your household worth?

Now, back to the original point.  How many times are government numbers way off?  Multiplying the origional number is usually more accurate.  If it’s double, my household owes $2,160,000 for our governmental promises.  I’ve got to make a lot more than I do now.

As it sits right now if the giveaway programs and excesses are not reduced or eliminated, we as a country will be in the same boat as GM.  Are we writing checks with our words which our deeds can’t cash.

Ironic that a bankrupt company is being taken over by a bankrupt government.

Are You An American? No, Really?

10 06 2009

Question:  What makes a True American?  Is it where you were born?

Answer:   A True American Knows and Lives  correct principles of government.

I’m calling on all US citizens.  If you claim to be a citizen of the United States of America, prove it!

Do you know what the correct principles of government are?  Have you read the US Constitution, every word of it?  Do you understand it?  If you haven’t read every word of it are you really an American in the true sense of the word?  “The Ugly American” a 1958 novel portrayed the United States losing the struggle with Communism overseas.  It portrayed arrogant Americans overseas failing to understand the local culture.  Now are we the Ugly Americans at home?  Have we failed to understand our United States culture of what it takes to be a free nation?

If you haven’t read, studied and understand the foundation of your government, the Constitution of the United States of America, you are dangerous and an enemy to freedom.  Voting is power transference and requires responsibility just as driving a car requires responsibility as the driver transfers power down the road.  You can be reckless with your vote just as much as with a car.

An ignorant voter is a menace to society.  Ignorance is enemy #1 to good government.  A stupid vote can destroy a brilliant vote.  Too many stupid votes kill truth, freedom, justice and the American way.  What we end up with is Greedom, Surfdom, not Freedom.  Socialism is simply collective greed and life on a lower common denominator.  To limit access to power you must limit the collection of power.  The balance of power as intended in the founding document has been warped.

If you haven’t read, studied and understand the Constitution you are intentionally or unintentionally a Communist, Socialist, Fascist, Anarchist or generally exhibiting Anti-Social or Destructive behaviors.  If you are willfully participating in or flirting with any of the above foolish political farces you are set up for drastic disappointment, a classic failure to deliver and you are contributing to the degradation of the finest governmental principles and community on the planet.

This is the part of the preamble of the Constitution which most Americans are familiar with:
“We the people…”  That’s about it.  Many I’m sure don’t even know that much.

There are far to many of our citizens that are drinking the Fool-Aid.  Many of our leaders are simply stupidly, ignorantly or maliciously voting against constitutional principles for their own personal benefit.  If we tested all our Congressional and Executive leadership on the Constitution that they swear to uphold how well would they do?  How do you know if your leader is stupid, ignorant or malicious?  Stupid is as Stupid does.  There are some who do know and care but it is a sad few lonely representatives.

It is abundantly clear that Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Anarchism and all other derivatives of the failed social wrecking machines are and have been a failure throughout time – every time.  It’s the definition of insanity to keep doing what doesn’t work time and time again.  Slamming your head into a brick wall hurts every single time until the brain is dysfunctional and unable to process.   Every experiment with Socialism/Communism in America (and elsewhere) has failed so why do we think our current experiment is any different.  Are we that politically brain dead?  Why embrace failure?  Why choose leaders embracing socialist and communist policies?

Socialism is Anti-American, counter to the founding principles of the United States of America.  Our government is right now what the founders worked so hard to prevent.

In the preamble of the Constitution it says “…..promote the general welfare”.  It does NOT say “provide specific welfare”.  In the early 1900’s the liberal Supreme Court broke tradition of not allowing the US Government to be in the charity business and opened the treasury to Congress for whatever Congress wanted to do with the peoples money as long as it fit into the “general welfare” category.  If I were alive I would have heard the   That was the camel nose.  The whole camel is in the tent now and “We The People” need to kick the camel out!

I proclaim again that all US Federal government welfare must end.  Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare and all non constitutional departments, programs, and expenses must be done away with.  Wipe out Social Security/Medicaid/Medicare NOW!  They are way outside of the spirit and letter of the Constitution.  Let charity start at home not at the Fed.  If you think Social Security is anything other than welfare, think again.

In September 1959 Nikita Khrushchev visited the US and spoke with President Eisenhower’s Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson:

“As we talked face to face, he indicated that my grandchildren would live under communism. After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his and all other grandchildren will live under freedom he arrogantly declared in substance:

‘You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you   small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.’

There is only one cure.

Read every word of the Constitution and its amendments.  If you haven’t done so yet, here is a free link .  See what it is we are all supposed to be abiding by and see if you agree with the changes that have been made to it.  Be an American, a true freedom fighter!  Read it, understand it, do it. It is still time to clean house.

Global Warming, Global Shmorming

26 06 2009

Global Warming, Global Shmorming

Why on earth should anyone believe Nancy Pelosi?  Her panic to pass the sweeping environmental bill is disturbing on many fronts.  Not only is there not a consensus among scientists as Al Gore has lied to us about, but come to find out many scientists have been silenced.  In a Wall Street Journal article it notes that Joanne Simpson, the first female  PHd meteorologist said that since she retired last year she can now speak “frankly”.  The number of disbelievers of the ‘New Religion’ of global warming have been numerous and are growing daily.  Nancy Pelosi, however,  is vested monetarily in belief.  Her faith has less to do with her concern for the planet than it does to enrich her family’s already fat portfolio.

I don’t have the investigative resources to verify all of this but her highly paid executive son, Paul Pelosi Jr., has been quietly buying up cheap carbon credits on the private market for next to nothing so that if and when the US global warming bill passes, the carbon credits would then cost an arm and a leg.  Insider knowledge and having a twisting arm in the halls of power would give you a leg up on the competition wouldn’t it?!

So, if I had $1000 or a few million to invest and I had my mother pushing the legislation through – do I hear an undisclosed conflict of interest here?  Of course I do but it seems to be happening all the time.  Should it be illegal?  Yes it should be but who’s making the laws?

If this is true, shouldn’t Nancy Pelosi step down from  Congress until her conflicts of interest are resolved?  Isn’t this dirtier than theft?  At least when a thief has stolen from you it’s obvious, you know about it.  Congressmen are good at stealing behind your back which is way worse because you’re being lied to as well as being stolen from. I’m sick of these sneaky lying leaders guiding us like lemmings over the cliff.
In the first place, Global Warming is a crock and always has been.  Think about it for a minute.  If all of this ‘evil’ Carbon Dioxide was circulating in our environment at one time many years ago, what makes it evil to release it?  Coal for example used to be trees, plants and all kinds of vegetation.  A catastrophic event or events took it out of circulation and buried the hydrocarbons.  Perhaps a good coalition to start would be “Liberate the Carbon Initiative”.

Did you know that with more Carbon Dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere the better plants grow?  There are so many contradicting evidences to Global Warming that Al Gore’s ”An Inconvenient Truth” should be place in the fiction section of the library.

I have said for decades to use up the coal, burn the natural gas, and drive your petroleum burning vehicle.  Yes, I agree that they should be non-polluting.  Who wants dirty air?  I hate pollution!  However, Carbon Dioxide must not be mis-categorized as a pollutant.  If it were so, you would have to say goodbye to your carbonated drinks.  Carbon Dioxide must be elevated to a necessary and saving gas. Plants are dead without it.  Of course we couldn’t live without plants.

If you run a greenhouse you know that pumping additional carbon dioxide in will make your plants grow more efficiently and healthily.  At this moment in our planets history there is a deficit of carbon dioxide (CO2).  Increasing of CO2 is good.  All life will benefit from higher CO2 in our atmosphere.   There are studies that have been and are being done by very reputable scientists that prove that Earth’s living organisms are benefiting from the increase in CO2.  Right now CO2 levels are in the high 300’s in parts per million.  Levels of 1000-2000 ppm cause plants to grow extremely efficiently.

My motto – “Burn Baby Burn!”

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

3 08 2009

I believe in Jesus Christ.  Here is a very nice video to remind me of who my role model is.  I hope you enjoy the this I found on Seth Adam Smith’s site.
