How To Be Healthy

4 09 2012

Do you want to be healthy?  Who doesn’t?

My fathers mother, God bless her dear departed soul, was short and to the point in very effective ways.  I was complaining to her about an issue that my young mind was concerned about at the time, I don’t recall what it was, but I told her, “Grandma, I wish that _______________.”

With a dramatic pause and an intense stare for 3 to 5 seconds said, “Wish in one hand and spit in the other.”

I forgot what that particular issue was but I never forgot her words.

What that has meant to me ever since then is if I wish, complain, fuss, fret or generally stew in my own juices about something, I get nowhere.  If I get busy and do something, then my wishes will materialize.

Why do I tell this story in relation to the title of being healthy?

It was prompted by this article Organic Food not healthier for you?

What is amazing is that industry hacks are ALWAYS propagandizing for their cause and not necessarily OURS.  They by nature have their self interest in mind and our interest ARE NOT very often their number one priority.

Pay attention to the subtleties of life in your body and in your environment.  Be the master of yourself, not the slave.  You will always be in the drivers seat unless you relinquish your power.

The secret of good health is simple.  Pray and meditate daily, eat and drink the BEST ingredients to feed yourself and your micro-organisms, work doing something you feel good about, have fun, and most importantly – love.  The last ingredient is vital – pay attention and act instead of being acted upon.

The industry hacks who say that organic produce may not be healthy for you neither know what true organic produce is or what true health is so how can they quantify?

The term Organic is a loose term referring to food that is supposed to be more free of pesticides and other contaminants and full of nutrition.  Many “Organic” are failing on both accounts so technically, the article is correct.

However, the article seems to be leading us to conclude that eating better foods is not better for us and we can simply relax our guard and eat whatever we want without implication.  Eat, drink and be merry on conventionally produced foods for tomorrow we die.  I say that doing so will cause the grim reaper to harvest much sooner than designed.

I say, grow your own food with the fullest nutritional potential, drink the best water, breathe the best air, have the best friends, learn the best information, believe and do truth.

As humans it has been established that we have the capacity to live at least 120 years of age.  It was stated in Genesis long ago and more recently established by scientists such as Michael D. West in his book, “The Immortal Cell.” that our DNA is designed to replicate for us to live around the age of 120 years.  We have telomeres on the end of our DNA strands and every replication a little snippet of the telomeres is cut off.  The cell will not replicate after that and expiration is rapid when the cell’s life has ended.

The problem is that we end up giving up the ghost 40 to 60 or more years prematurely.  What are the reasons for that?  If we are not killed by a semi-truck or other tragic events, we give in to degenerative diseases or our organs don’t self replicate properly because of the improper internal and external cellular environment.

The details are multiple and varied but the essence is that if we provide our cells the right environment to function and replicate properly our lives will be drastically healthier and longer.

Remember, wish in one hand and spit in the other.

True Faith in Christ

Believe in Christ

Faith Grows

What is the difference between faith and belief?  Can anyone just think or say that Jesus is the Son of God and all is done?

First of all He taught us how to behave, how to act and program our thoughts before we act in a very compact sermon located in Matthew 5 through Matthew 7.  It is simple to understand.  It is not as easy to do every moment of your life.  That is what this life is for, to master our soul and be perfect as he commanded us to be.

Jesus did say that straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to eternal life and broad is the way that leads to destruction.

Faith is an action word.  Grace is the Saviors act of forgiveness after we have repented or changed, not before.  If we are still in the habit of not following Christ’s instructions as listed in His gospel noted above, we have not repented yet and the grace of God cannot take hold in our life.

I have had friends in the past who have been convinced that once you say you believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Savior, it’s all good.  That’s NEVER what Jesus said.  As a matter of fact, I have taken the time to pull out the words of Jesus recorded in the New Testament regarding what Jesus said about the subject.  You can look up all the references and read the before and after context.  Anyone who cares to learn what Jesus wants for us will not have to rely on any dogma filtered through the agenda of anyone. Basically Jesus tells us that words are important but if they are not backed up by our actions, talk is cheap.

Matthew 5: 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Jesus then spends more time and effort teaching us what to say and do in chapters 6 and 7 and then says:

Matthew 7: 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Matthew 11:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 25: 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.  (Versus)  30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25: 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Mark 3: 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

Mark 7:6  …this people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God…

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth…

Luke 10:25 … Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Luke 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he (The Lord) shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 10: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

So, there you have it.  That is what Jesus said about doing what He instructed us.  The world will be a very wonderful place when we all love God and each other as we have been instructed to.  He is our Father and we are all His children.

Fear Rules

8 12 2011

Be Still, No Fear

If I paid attention to all the things others people would like me to be fearful about, I could be in a constant state of panic.

I must follow a few rules to prevent or eliminate fear.  From my experience, when making decisions based on fear, serious miscalculations are often the result.  If I conquer fear, I can conquer my surroundings.

Rule 1. Be still.  What I have found to be the most profound is to be still.  I find that meditating and prayer in the morning first thing will pave the way for a productively peaceful day.  When I am able to be still and have a personal distillation process take place within my mind, body and soul, a foundation is laid for the day.  At the end of the day before I go into the rest and repair mode of sleep, I am able to let go of the accumulated stresses and strains by being still.  Turn it off.  Sometimes we can be TOO turned on to others thoughts and ideas and have our own valuable thoughts and impressions pushed aside. There is a scripture that says: “Be still and know that I am God.”  There are several ways to read that passage.  Inflection and emphasis on the word ‘know’ implies that we cannot know God without being still.

Rule 2.  Love.  I must truly love myself so that I may have a softened heart to be able to love others.  I’m not talking about the warped emotional sickness of narcissism or selfishness that is the result of an emotional void being filled in perpetually un-fulfilling ways.  I’m talking about being able to tell myself and deeply feel care and concern for my soul now, in the past, and myself that is to be. As feeling grows, it is impossible to contain.  Radiation is a natural consequence of being filled.  Light naturally fills and expands as does love.  As I bask and contemplate, realizations and insights happen.

3. Gratitude.  There is a scripture that says we must “Thank the Lord thy God in all things.”  If something I perceive to be bad happens, it is not naturally logical to be grateful for that bad thing.  Miracles happen when that practice is instituted.  Sometimes I must be reminded to be thankful in all things.  It is then important to be surrounded by those with our best interests at heart and remind to thank God for ALL things.

Finally, when I am in a state of confident contemplation, I can then make the best decisions and take the best actions.  I have seen the contrast.  This really works.

We Only Have A Few Seconds To Live

We Only Have A Few Seconds To Live

We Only Have A Few Seconds To Live

We only have a few seconds to live!

We really, truly, only live a few seconds every day.  In the presence or our present we consciously deal with what is in front of us, anticipate the next moment of life, and subconsciously process and react to what just occurred.  The change is constant.

Thoughts trigger emotions which ripple through our bodies.  Our bodies generate actions and reactions.

Scientists and philosophers contemplate and test how much control individuals truly have over their destiny.  Do we have choice or free will?  Are we producers or simply products?  Are we creators or creation?  Do we matter or are we simply of matter? Are we genetic soup or master chefs?  Is our inner intelligence intelligent or is it meaningless mental echo sloshing around in the tides of environment?

The answer is….yes.  Is the riddle solved?  It is within each individual.  Our ability is to be the master or the slave, the victim or the victor, the action or reaction, the live or the living dead.  Our future is determined by the accumulation of our collective now moments.  To Be or Not To Be.  I am not.  Perhaps I am.  I am.  The past, present and future melt into one as we chose to live.

Whenever we make the choice to capture the moment and make a choice instead of reacting out of environmental conditions or habit, we influence ourselves drastically.  When captured enough, an explosion of permanence takes hold.  Consistent choice cements character.

There are those in science and academia who state as revival gospel truth that we are victims of our ancestors and can’t do a thing about it.  On the contrary, some experimenters have discovered and are uncovering details that what we think and do affects our DNA directly and indirectly.

A young poet, William Earnest Henley in 1875 wrote his famous words titled Invictus. He penned this short poem in his hospital bed after having his leg amputated.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Am I the Captain?  I am!

Slavery

Could it be said any simpler?

The Future Is Now

1 01 2011

Our individual and collective goal is to be perfect.

  • Perfection is defined by pure intelligence.
  • The physical realm follows eternal laws perfectly.
  • Discovering truth through pure intelligence and implementing it is our role as mortals.
  • We have been placed into time and space for eternal purpose.

The goal of perfection is now possible.  Let me state it a little differently.  The goal of perfection is possible now.

Now is the only time forever.  Now is our present, future, and past. As we become eternal, time becomes a thing of the past. It will be the ultimate merger.  We will in a non-linear dimension.

That is why it is critical to enlighten, clean up the past, make amends, or repent.

The question of the ancients has always been, “What manner of man should I be?”  The answer from Pure Intelligence, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”  After His resurrection Christ added, “Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am.”  Individually and collectively we must be intelligent, pure, perfect.

There are amazing discoveries, revelations and technologies that are already discovered that will not be revealed until we are ready.  There are more that will be developed as more of us refine and purify.  They will be rolling out only when we are ready.  We will reflect and see this time as a sort of dark age in comparison.

God, Christ, Nature, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Geology, and Biology will be revealed to be a concert of incredible beauty, intelligence, majesty, brilliance and radiant harmony. The blinders are coming off.

The Future Is Now.  Can you see it?

Giving Thanks

25 11 2010

I'm Thankful ForWhat am I thankful for?

I am thankful for the many blessings offered by The Almighty in preserving my life and providing a Land Of The Free where I am truly free to choose. I am Thankful for all facets of what Jesus Christ was, is, and is to be in our lives.

An exercise our family has done in the past is to go around the Thanksgiving table while each person has a chance to say one thing we are grateful for and keep going around.  The first time we did it I thought the young children would run out of things as we went round and round the table, but time after time I was surprised at the level of their thankfulness or gratitude.  They were very thankful for simple little things that most adults take for granted.  It really is the simple little things that make a difference.

I read a scripture that changed the way I think about everything.  The Lord is quoted as saying, “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.”

The day after I emphatically shared this with my family, a disaster struck.  Panic started to spread through my mind and heart like a plague until my amazing wife kindly reminded me of the words of the Lord, “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.”

I immediately said a prayer in my mind and heart thanking God for this event that on the surface was not good.  Over the next two weeks, it turned out to be a blessing instead of a curse.  It doesn’t matter what the disaster was because they happen all the time, small and large.  The technique God has commanded us to use works every time.  Guaranteed or your money back.  No need to go to some expensive guru that may end up killing you in a sweat lodge either.  God’s commands are free and work every time.

I have to work today on this Thanksgiving and cannot spend the whole day with my family.  Rather than be bitter and resentful, I am thankful that I must work.  Miracles happen through thankfulness and gratitude.

I am grateful to have a job that helps me provide for goods and services to others that I may provide for my family, especially in this time when many are suffering from unemployment or underemployment.

I am thankful that the greater percentages of Americans are employed.

I am Thankful for or that I can:

  • Think grand visions with the hope of achieving them.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Do as I wish according to my thoughts.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Speak my mind and desires plainly and publicly.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Worship, serve and thank The Almighty God and seek truth as I feel.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Seek happiness in whatever way seems best to me.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Choose my friends, associations, employment, recreation, pastimes, and education as I would like.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Choose and influence my governmental leaders to represent my interests and concerns.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Travel without restriction.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Learn what I would like in the most amazing ways I had never imagined.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Create and share my creations worldwide.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Laugh, love and play in an infinite number of ways.  How many billion people cannot?
  • Freedom for my wife that she is allowed to be and do what she wants to.  How many billion women cannot?
  • Food to eat.
  • A place to live.
  • Many charitable people and organizations to help the less fortunate.
  • This goes on and on …..

The United States of America is the greatest land of freedom in the world.  Not all of our people have been educated to, believed in, and acted according to the Divine Founding Principles that many take for granted.  How many billion people are yearning for what many Americans don’t realize?

I am thankful for the founding fathers and mothers.  I thank George Washington for instituting the day as Holy in his Thanksgiving Declaration in 1789. I thank Abraham Lincoln for making this day an official Holy Day for the United States in 1863 at the height of the Civil War.

What makes my life truly worthwhile is my family.  I have an amazing wife, wonderful children, good parents and brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  I am thankful for all things.
